| ![]() https://www.asiatees.com/article?Hob...er-RTR&id=3219 Looks like another rig based off the ECX Barrage/RGT Adventurer/FTX Outback Nice looking tires and wheels, and they kept the ladder frame chassis (cough cough carisma) The pumpkin on the axles looks nice, but I'm curious to see if it gets caught on rocks. The electronics seem similar to Carisma or what the Barrage had,but the controller has a channel 3 button so who knows. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my LGMP450 using Tapatalk Last edited by spoo76; 10-08-2018 at 11:47 PM. |

Plastic gears in the axles and tranny? Are spare parts available?

Like I said It looks mostly based on the ECX barrage/ftx/rgt. So likely it has the same plastic gears just like almost all the other micro crawlers have. Other than the metal diff gears on the RC4WD. no spare parts aren't available because it's not even released yet. However once it is released because it's from Asia Tee's I'm sure they will have plenty of spare parts, which all should be cross compatible with the ECX as well Last edited by spoo76; 10-07-2018 at 09:08 PM.

I did read the post I'm not familiar with ECX trucks. Ive never owned one. I guess I figured I'd ask the guy posting about the truck thinking I would get a simple answer. Also just cuz it looks like it's based off a ECX truck doesn't mean all the internal parts are the same some manufacturers copy other design but build them with better quality at a better price. Thanks.

It's a rebadge of the Carisma. I do like the landy body tho. It's the nicest stock lexan body I've seen outside of the Ambush. Some pieces of styrene on the front and rear would really make it pop. I am confused why both this and the Carisma keep promoting it as "FPV ready." Have they actually tried a surface vehicle with FPV? I have. It's terrible. No depth perception and unless you can some how shoe horn an independent pan mechanism you can't really see out all that well, even with a WA lens. I have an ECX Roost that I bought specifically for that purpose. It feels like driving a fullsize car, yeah, but while you're wearing a neck immobilizing brace. Really makes you appreciate being able to look 3 degrees to the left to see the apex of a corner on the other side of the A-pillar. |

The ECX Barrage, FTX, Outback, RGT Adventurer are all basically the same truck with different bodies, some come with 1S lipo instead of NIMH. Those axles are also very similar internally to the Sumo/HBX Sent from my LGMP450 using Tapatalk

Sneak Peak. Hobby Plus CR-24 Eventually I'll go MUCH more in depth like I did years ago with the Trekker and Sumo parts comparability thread. The 1/24 Carisma MSA-1E will be here Thursday or Friday. I'll do the same when that gets here. Single cell Lipo ready. Same width and wheelbase as the ECX Barrage /FTX Outback/RGT Adventurer. Same size 25mm wheels as the Barrage which are more scale than the previous Losi/RC4WD 1.0" style. The tires are just as super soft as the Barrage/FTX/RGT. The wheels are real beadlocks. The axle pumpkin looks great The motor is Losi size, not the longer Barrage/FTX/RGT size. The roll cage is real metal. Likely aluminium. Chassis rails are similar to Barrage/FTX/RGT, though the shock hoops are intergrated into the chassis. The shock springs are even softer than the Barrage/FTX/RGT The motor is facing forward instead of towards the rear. The electronics are also mounted farther forward. BEST OF ALL IT CRAWLS MUCH SLOWER than the Barrage/FTX/RGT. The transmission looks like the same layout as the Barrage/FTX/RGT, but the spur gear cover is smaller. Maybe they are using compound gears for more gear reduction. My one complaint is the axle shaft slop at the steering knuckles. However it's $89 which makes it the cheapest scale micro/mini crawler. Also the remote control is pretty neat. More on that later. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my LGMP450 using Tapatalk |

Well looks like everything was exactly how I thought with the Hobby Plus CR-24 / D1RC The axle internals are exactly the same as the Barrage/FTX/RGT even down to the gears and ratio. Looks like all the parts would swap around even the lock outs and possibly the Carrier Hubs The best news is the new transmission. It's the same layout and style as the Barrage/FTX/RGT, however it has a thicker profile to fit the compound gears. There's much more reduction than the Barrage/FTX/RGT. I'll add everything up tomorrow to get the exact number. BTW this looks to also be the same Transmission in the Carisma MSA-1E. I'll know for sure tomorrow when the Carisma arrives. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my LGMP450 using Tapatalk |

BTW there's a Jeep version of the Hobby Plus CR-24 from D1RC. It's the exact same truck with a Jeep body and it's $5 less putting it @ $75 Neither truck comes with a charger or Lipo for this price. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/-/32958417363.html Sent from my LGMP450 using Tapatalk |

The Bead lock wheels are pretty sweet. The tires are just as soft as the Barrage/FTX/RGT and look like unlicensed versions of the Falkens the Barrage uses. The tread pattern style is the same, however it's much more aggressive with bigger lugs and more spacing. The wheels and tires are also the same size as the ECX Barrage/FTX Adventurer/RGT Outback and use the same 7mm that's now standard. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my LGMP450 using Tapatalk |

Excellent job. Now I want/need one of these. Good to know the tranny could be sorted and those micro bead locks are a nice touch.

Even without coming with a battery, and the fact mine came missing the hex pins ( the hex themselves are very very tight though) I'd say the Hobby Plus CR-24 Defender from Asia Tee's and the Hobby Plus D1RC Jeep from Bang Good are going to be the best bang for buck. I need to explore that 3rd channel. I have a feeling it's a basic on off switch. I suspect the Carisma has the same transmission and will know by tonight, but I don't really like the chassis and can't see why it's $30 more expensive for basically the same thing. I doubt the new UV Barrage with the FC body has the updated transmission, but will know in a few days. Sent from my LGMP450 using Tapatalk |

Nice, seems like they finally got the right combination of parts together. Definitely considering picking one up.

Agreed, they got a lot right. Even little details like making the bead locks keyed for easy Assembly or having holes and channels so you don't have to vent the wheels. So far my only complaints are the slop for the front axle outputs from the knuckles, which can be shimmed, and the missing pins for the wheel hexes. I'll really have to get some time running it to see where the axles will hang up. It's more scale so it has a few more edges to snag. The charisma MSA-1E arrived today, I'll snap some quick pictures before I bring it home Sent from my LGMP450 using Tapatalk |
