| Any info on these China tires...?
I spotted this rig when it first came out and thought it had potential but the price was and is still a little high for me. It’s listed as a 1/18 though it has micro style axles and tranny. But this is about the tires. The tires for it are reportedly 59mm tall. Width still unknown as well as the wheel size. I’m hoping it’s a 1” wheel since I took a $5.79 gamble and ordered a set. For -$6 it’s a worthy gamble for a non-scale build I’ve got in the works. https://www.banggood.com/Hub-With-Ti...p-1270952.html |

I remember seeing them at a gas station and a few youtube videos. They always looked like pretty tall tires, but someone confirmed the wheels are bigger than 1" not sure how soft they are either. They may fit a WPL wheel though. Sent from my LGMP450 using Tapatalk |

Those tires are a tight fit on standard micro 1.0's. They are pretty wide, but when there on a micro wheel they have a nice narrower taller look, about the same height as the scramblers. i'd have to measure tomorrow if need be. I mounted some scramblers on mine. I snagged my prc when it went on sale a while back. As far as the rig goes it was worth every penny. Nice electronics etc..

How've you been man? I've seen these rigs in boxes at stores, but curious how well they scale up to other 1/20 and 1/18 like the mini gelande Sent from my LGMP450 using Tapatalk |

These tires are good in most terrain. Original purpose was for rock crawlin' but would make pretty nice mudder tires etc..

The compound is not nearly as soft as the Scrambler. Almost as soft as the MiClow but the carcass is much thicker. I’d say it almost as comparable as the Axial BFGs that came on the Yeti as for a comparison as to how the thick carcass feels. Albeit a 1.0 compared to a 2.2 is apples and oranges. |

I haven’t tried these yet but I think I’ll like them. Running the MiClows foamless lead to them often times folding up and walking under obstacles that with a foam they would crawl over. But if they had a foam then often times they would be too stiff to conform to other obstacles. They need a sweet CI dual stage.... But these China tires are a slightly harder rubber compound and larger lugs as well. I will see in a few days just how they’ll stack up to a light rig like my Goat. |

You’re right. I was thinking they only offered the 1.55/1.7 sizes as their small foams. For $3 I may just have to try a set. They’d definitely be better than stock foams and better than no foams. http://crawlerinnovations.com/lil-nova/micro-foams/

Just a little follow up. I’ve ran these China tires a fair bit and they don’t conform well at all even without foams. I’ve weighted both the tire with BBs and the wheel with solder and they just don’t work half as well as the MiClows. Recently I put the Scramblers on some of those wide offset beadlock HBX wheels and weighted the wheels some. I put the foams in as well but the Goat chassis just doesn’t have enough weight to make the foams work. So I pulled the foams and added some ball bearings and I am impressed. Even with the lack of large lugs like the MiClows they have our performed them. I pulled some lines tonight I didn’t think were possible. Partly due to the ball bearings but also the tire seemed to wrap around obstacles much better than the MiClows. That and the full offset wheels allowed some amazing side hill action. The only issue now is that these axles came from a Trekker way before they were discontinued and I never greased them. I’m getting some binding now and will hopefully get a chance to open them tomorrow. They’ll get some grease and I hope they’re not ruined since they have a fair amount of run time. My 250mAh 2s batteries are also lacking from being left charged all the time. So I’ll source a few more soon. Anything larger and the Goat feels top heavy. |

I opened the axles to find them in good shape but just a dab of grease. So I packed the grease into them and put them back together. Took it back out and it was doing better sound wise but was now looking like it could be the motor. It was stalling on steep inclines and I'd have to stop, wait a second or two, and then continue on with throttle. A few minutes later the pinion split in two so it's down until I find a replacement gear. I'm thinking of using the motor from my unused Barrage tranny since it's a long can and I have the room to fit it.
