Default Lengthening SCX24

I briefly saw this talked about in 1 post, but nothing more concrete. What are the extra links and half shaft for that came with the SCX24? I believe someone said they were to make it longer. Which end? And where?

Thanks.

They are to shorten the wheelbase. I forget the exact numbers, but a few mm longer than a Barrage. Closer to the Carisma MSA1-E

I don't remember seeing it, but it's been a while since I've looked in it

Ok, so.... I just got the longer links. Someone told me my rear end of the deadbolt is already longer? But the kit I can use in the front to make it longer?

I have the Deadbolt

If you have the Deadbolt and bought the links for the Jeep, you can stretch the front wheelbase by 10mm. You need the links for the Jeep in order to get the longer upper Y link unless you are planning on doing the 4-link mod which will require custom links anyway. You will need to make the front driveshaft longer as well.

I did get the whole kit. It does make it way longer. To the point my servo hits the bumper.

Yes. Everything is packaged pretty tight up front. Moving stuff around usually requires modifying something.

It's possible you need the Jeep JL front bumper, as the upper shock mounts seem to be made into it. I'm not certain what the differences are, but I'd be willing to bet that's part of it. I ordered the JL front bumper, lengthening kit, and rear bumper w/ hinge. Should have it sometime next week so I can comment then.

Also, it may be time for someone to design a chassis mount for the servo.

one thing I did notice, is the ES09md is longer in body. so even in a stock mount, it is very far forward.... does the shapeways mount move the back of the servo further back over the pumpkin, or does it make it stick so far out?

The one I sell for the Micro Shark conversion pushes it back a couple of mm. That is designed for the ES08 though. Not sure how the ES09 compares dimensionaly.
