All I can say is the length of screws they provided with my sets were too short, they didn't even have much thread grab in the hub. There's an extra 2-3mm of threads the screws could thread into which (if they gave us the right length of screw) would make getting these started much easier.

Maybe they're giving us shorter screws now?

EDIT: If they were making them at the time and I could do it over again it would have been Gearhead wheels for sure!

I just got mine last week. They COULD have been longer for sure. There's a lot of empty threads in the hubs.

Sucks you guys are having problems with them. My last set was from three months ago & didn’t have any problems went together smooth and fast. There is some thread left in the hub but damn that’s a thick hub for a micro.

Could be junk bolts not up to spec? Or possibly junk hubs? RC4WD is known for random junkness in things while other gear is top notch.

For me I glued the hub to the rim makes things a little easier

I found even if I clamped these tight in my hand the threads would instantly strip out on the hubs.

Anyway what I did was make a little clamp out of a M2.5 bolt, a nut and some washers cutting some notches in one of the washers on top so I could sneak 2 bolts by.

Even with this tool they're still a bit of a struggle, I found that getting these 2 screws sort of positioned right (but not threaded in) helped to keep the 2 halves aligned.
I got 1 mounted without it and the other 7 were a big struggle.
I had this same idea last night at about 10:30 after I had been messing with them for over an hour. I was over them at that point and ready for a beer. I'll try again this weekend and see if I can rig up something similar to get them assembled.

If the above doesn't work this is what I'll do.

Thanks.

I just ordered a set of those 1" black steel beadlocks and some 1" Scramblers for my SCX24. Thanks for the input from those that struggled with them

I'll update once they are here. So far though with a little weight I am loving this thing stock

I ended up assembling mine without the foam. They went together MUCH easier. We'll see how they perform.

Most micros are light enough to run without foams.

I’m not a fan of poking holes in my tires but will drill a few 1/16 holes in my micro wheels and 1/8 holes in my 1/10 wheels. Always scared of tearing a tire.

I've discovered that which tires you are mounting makes a HUGE difference as to just how difficult mounting is. The first set I mounted on these 1.0 steelies were the Rock Creepers. Very fiddly, but I got them on after a little work. I just put on a set of Scramblers and they went on like butter, easier than a lot of a 1.9's. So there's that to consider...

Is anyone running other than the stock battery? I've got the stock ESC/Receiver and would like to find a battery that lasts a bit longer than the stock battery.

Thanks in advance!

I've been using value hobby for many years. These fit in the stock location, 30c, and inexpensive. They are like most with a JST RCY connector plug so you'll need to make or buy an adapter to the SCX24 JST PH 2.0 connector. If you have an RC4WD mini Gelande it already has the adapter.

I am using the AMT 1/20 body with CR24 wheels and tires and looks a lot more scale kind like a tiny TF2. The stock tires are too tall in my mond for scale look.

Steering servo will have to be addressed soon imo. I also got rid of the portion of the cage that goes over top of the lights. I like the look better without it.

Few pics of the action today... no breakage/ no lost parts/ 40+ minutes of run-time. Motor was barely warm to the touch. We left before either rig hit lvc.

Looks like we think alike with our style…
