The motor is definitely undersized even for the generous gearing. It's almost N20 sized like an Orlandoo. From left to right Barrage/RGT, Carisma MSA-1E, Losi Sent from my LGMP450 using Tapatalk

Do you happen to know if there's a fix for the torque twist?

Mine will be here on the 5th.... gives me a little time to find all my micro stuff. Pretty sure I have a full metal Danally big block stroker stashed away as well as an OG CC micro Sidewinder, it was too much for my Losi if I remember right, gonna be a looooong week

Got mine today awesome little truck. Now to build a micro course. It out performs my barrage by far! Servo is lacking motor isn’t bad. Looking forward to seeing what hop ups people do!

My father's arrived yesterday (pre-order from Horizon Hobbies) It's not as fast as the Trail Trekker out of the box, but seems to have better clearance and looks better to boot! What blows me away is how good it is, and what comes in the package for only a little over a $100. I paid way more than that for less before. And if I didn't already have a mountain of parts to build a few more cars out of first, I'd pick one of these up for myself in a heartbeat. it's got good drive-shafts out of the box and a decent electronics for the price. I'd definitely say it's geared a little high for CRAWLING, but it's good enough if you're not doing anything custom with it. if you intend to weigh it down, I'd get a bigger motor too, it's tiny! I just ordered up a set of drive shafts for my other custom 1/20th scale crawler in fact, I liked them that much, and they're beefier than orlandoo's offerings! |

I like it! I think it’s perfect speed. I use the middle power setting and feel it’s pretty close to perfect speed/torque. The pass through speed controller, three position 3rd channel switch, two led leads. And the servo is decent for RTR. Way better than what the other micros come with. And its water resistant. This is a solid deal for the money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I agree, and Axial/horizon proves it's possible to have good electronics and bearings around the $100 price range. Carismas MSA-1E has a decent suspension and electronics, but overall the under-sized motor, ugly non scale chassis, wheels, tires, and bushings instead of bearings are disappointing for $120-$130 Sent from my LGMP450 using Tapatalk |

My first impression is "How could anyone not love everything about this especially for the price??" Body is really well done from the mold to the paint... all is really well done including interior details. Suspension seems really responsive and smooth for a rig this size. Radio feels nice for an rtr tx... steering wheel feels smooth and responsive. Trigger & grip layout feels comfortable to hold and operate. On top of all that, the packaging, extra parts, and included literature tells me that they are up to the task of offering a well developed product that most any RC'er would enjoy. Can't wait to dig into it some more but I'm really happy so far.

Was in my LHS today and decided to add to my collection of 24th scale crawlers. Figured for $100 I couldn't go wrong. Naturally, I couldn't leave it alone. The stock tires just seem out of proportion to me, so I threw on a set of RC4WD beadlocks from my CR-24. Looks a lot better now. Crawls about the same. My CR-24 with the SCX24 wheels and tires looks pretty ridiculous. I don't think I'll just be straight swapping wheels and tires between these two. Overall first impression - I like the worm gear drivetrain. It does crawl slowly and does allow for fairly fine throttle modulation. It's no 10th scale, but it's miles better than the ECX Barrage, and at least on par with my CR-24's - maybe just a little better. I wonder if the SCX24 can run on a 1S LiPo. It has a ton of "scoot" on 2S, maybe even more than I really need. I have millions of 1S LiPo's with the PH 2.0 connector on them from my fleet of micro quads. I will look into this and maybe give it a try. Last edited by boldfin; 06-01-2019 at 12:00 AM. |
