| SCX24 Toyota Tacoma
Should be noted right off the bat that this is not my design. I am using the following file created by the user "Alexby". He's got a couple of pretty cool designs I might try out. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3561469 This shell was designed to fit a 313mm SCX10. Scaling it down to fit the SCX24 has been quite problematic, at least with my printer. After failing with the V2 model a few times, the creator suggested I give the V3 a go because the print wasn't segmented as much. I achieved decent results on the cab, and I hope to kick off the bed tonight. Though I usually head to my parents' house on Wednesday nights to join my folks for dinner, so we'll see. I reduced the print size based on the difference in wheelbases between the scx10 and the scx24, but I still don't think it's going to align correctly. I may need to resize (shorten a smidge) and reprint. Last edited by chino; 06-12-2019 at 12:20 PM. |

That's all support material on the inside to support the roof as it prints. That'll be removed (hopefully without destroying the body). Last edited by chino; 06-12-2019 at 07:40 AM. | |

Looking forward to this. So assuming it's not perfect for length and width are you going to keep it scale and adjust track with and wheelbase together or independently to fit the stock setup? If you keep the body scale are you going to match the SCX Wheelbase or track width? Wheelbase is easy to adjust but keep in mind the scx24 wheels are more narrow with more positive offset than other wheels if you end up swapping later. Sent from my LGMP450 using Tapatalk |

Awesome! I wish we had more Yota body options for 1/24 so this is way cool. Subscribed! Sent from your iPhone. |

Ahh. Well wheelbase is easy to adjust of course. For track width if you want more for your build using Barrage/RGT/FTX, CR-24 wheels with those thicker wheel hexes will make the axles about the same width as RC4WD Mini Gelande Yota 2's If you want less that would be more challenging since it already has thin wheel hexes and positive offset wheels Sent from my LGMP450 using Tapatalk |

I got the bed printed last night. Man, this thing is a really tough print at this scale. The roof completely detached because the support columns (not to be confused with "support material" in the context of 3D printing) were so thin. I actually cut columns out of unused material and cemented them in place for the purpose of mock up. I think I'm happy overall with the dimensions and will go with this scale. I'm going to try and reprint, probably a few more times, with different settings and orientations until I can produce something a little cleaner. |
