Oh yea I had to do that too! Glad you got it worked out.

I've been trying to figure out what these spacers are you speak of. You mind sharing?

Or get the HBX devastator 2098B wheels for the same offset without spacers. Then wrap solder around the inside of the deep dish wheel for your own weight.

I went the HBX route on mine. But have those wheel spacers on my RC4WD micro.

If you're using these for an SCX24 there's an updated kit that has spacers.

Ah, thanks guys. I actually ordered a set of the HBX wheels, so I guess that should solve my problem.

Interesting! Thank you for sharing. Any clue what the small washer looking things do? Is that to go behind the axle pin?

Thanks for sharing this!

Keeps the bearing in place instead of using o-rings

There is also a 3d printable version of these on thingiverse. I think some version of these is a must on the scx24

Would you have a link? I can't find anything with an SCX24 search on thingiverse. I'd love to print a set while I'm waiting for my wheels.

The 3d printed part is just a spacer/retainers for when using these weights, but now they come with brass spacers included.

Ah, I found that. Ah well. I can probably make some up pretty easily. Maybe I'll give it a try later tonight.

Not sure what I was thinking trying to CAD some up. Can't do anything without the nuts...

Oh I thought you meant just the spacers it comes with now. There are some hex nuts on thingiverse too. Not sure if they add any width or are just a replacement.

Mines starting to make noise in the front axle. I assume my worm gear is moving around too much. I can see my drive axle shift forward and backward on the throttle.

Has anyone come up for a fix for those floating o rings on the worm gear? Anyone do a spacer instead yet?

So I assumed these little guys came with beadlocks, nope.

Any idea where I can find them and the screws needed?

EDIT: Found em.

Default Bigworm’s SCX24 Build

Finally picked this back up!

Added a 050 long can motor off a 1/24 barrage. Also used the metal pinion off the rc4wd motor I had in the scx24. I had to drill holes in the motor plate. Easier than I thought that would be.

This motor is much better than the rc4wd motor I had it in. Either motor is an improvement but the long can seems to have even more torque than the rc4wd motor gave. Which I thought was a pretty good improvement to begin with.

I also added some front shock towers off an RGT 1/24 junker I had laying around. I now finally have all 4 matching shocks. Which are the cariama oil shocks. I love them!

Here are some pics.

Current mod list:
Stock ESC\RX
ECX 1/24 050 long can with 11t pinion.
4WS using 2 emax es08ma servos.
4 Linked front end. (Wishbone rubbed axle)
Servo signal reverser
Scrambler tires.
Crawlwer Innovations Soft micro foams (LOVE THESE)
Hbx monster wheels.
Solder wrapped wheel barrels.
Cariama oil shocks
RGT front shock towers.
Relocated rear shock top mount
430mAh 2cell

Ah man! My rear (front) axle is locking up. I took the diff cover off assuming I’d find something in there and it looks fine?

The spiral gear on top wants to move forward or backward depending on which way I throttle.
It doesn’t seem to spin freely.

I can only assume the worm gear is not staying centered on top of the axle gear. Like it moves forward or backward too much inside the housing.

Anyone come across that? I’m not sure what to do to fix this.

Also mine had NO shims between the bearing and worm gear! The diagram shows something. Yet both of mine have NO SHIM. No o rings? Confused if there are some or not?

I wonder if I wore my gear housing out or something.

Not sure if I need a new axle or what.

Anyone run into this?
