Question... Where did you source the balls to mount the shocks?

Mine are more of a barrel design. They are like coke can with a hole at top and bottom for pass through. These are not screw in balls ends.

Well, I would be lying if I said I didn’t pretty much just copy your whole build other than the 4WS... I have way to many parts coming in the mail.... nowwwww I get to sit and wait and keep checking the tracking numbers lol. Very nice build I’m hoping to see the same flex!! Quick questions I have the RGT shock mounts coming along with the carisma shocks, did the front shock towers bolt right up?? Seems to easy and unlikely that the holes would line up. Any hardware I need to be searching for to mount the shocks front or rear? Thanks for this thread!! Can’t wait to see what I get to copy next hahaha. At least I adjust it right? That’s got to make it at least some better.

The rgt front shock mounts fit, but I had to squeeze them some to fit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Great build man! Do you recommend the SKU: LOSB1722 shocks over the stock ones? No extra parts needed to get these to fit? |

I have since changed this again to Carisma Oil shocks. Those are by far the best yet. BUT they have a much bigger eye hole so I used other hardware to mount mine. What I used, I dont know. Mostly just left over 1/24th ball ends stuff I had laying around. But the losi shocks in rear mounted how I had mine are a cheap way to get HUGE articulation even with the front STOCK shocks still being used like normal. So if you want a quick and easy mod, the Losi shocks in rear worked for me. But going to the Carisma oil shocks is hands down the best shock setup Ive found for the SCX24. But I also have so many 1/24th parts that I Frankenstein'd mine. Here is the losi shocks in rear and where I mounted them with different springs I had. The o ring was used for height adjustments. I would slide it up or down for whatever height I wanted. This is REARs only. Stock front end. And here is the carisma oil shocks I have now... And its final look with all 4 carisma shocks. In this final build, I used RGT 1/24 shock towers and now my front carisma oil shocks sit correctly. If I used carisma or losi shocks up front in stock locations, the ride height is WAY to high. This is why I moved the rear shock mount to the frame. It lowered the body and offered 4x more articulation. Last edited by BIGW0RM; 01-22-2020 at 02:07 PM.

Tried to mount the Losi shocks but my frame is not the same as yours. If I mount them like you have they have not the same angle and the truck sits really high Skickat frĺn min iPhone med Tapatalk Last edited by waqr; 01-24-2020 at 09:35 AM. |

Sorry for the late reply. You mounted them incorrectly bud. You need to mount them to the battery tray leg. The small one closest to rear end. EDIT: My bad, after a second look, it sure does look like you mounted them correctly. Sorry! You will have to cut coils, try springs from clicker pens, and get inventive, I think I cut mine or used others and used an o ring around the shock shaft as a perch to adjust my height. I think there are some photos of mine in this thread you can get ideas from. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by BIGW0RM; 01-27-2020 at 10:17 PM.

Thanks for the reply. Drilled new mounting holes in the chassie for the rear shocks. World great! I just would like to find stiffer springs. Easier said then done..... Tried some springs from penciles but they were all to small. Skickat frĺn min iPhone med Tapatalk |

Hi, I just got my Scx24 today and wanted to install some of the o rings I have sitting around into my steering like you did. But I was wondering how you took the front steering apart. I tried just to get the ball to pop out with it all mounted but that felt like I might break something. So should I go and unscrew the ball ends from the knuckles and and then try and pop the ball out with it detached? Is there a trick to popping the ball joints out easily?

I also took all ball ends out and added a couple rubber o rings to the linkage. Dont forget to do the servo drag link to the steering linkage that holds both wheels. That has a lot of slop too.
