I got in a car accident Friday night (not my fault) but am gimped up a bit, so my progress has greatly slowed.

Here is my current mod list.

100t motor
9t pinion
Castle mamba 25
New designed steering link
3d printed light bar to replace the stock one
3d printed sliders / boat sides and cut body
Dropped rear body mount
Flipped trans
Printed hexes to reduce the width a bit / allow for fitting all other wheels

List of to do’s
Swap out the whole body
New servo mount / cms setup in the works
New shock towers for the front
Rear shock mount options
57t spur swap

And probably more

I hope you have a speedy recovery. Curious about your 100t motor? What and where do I get one?

Nice mod list BTW. Looks great!

Use a good metal drive shaft.

Why are people using WPL drive shafts in this to begin with? Are the stock ones breaking to easily?

Currently just just driving it stock, but I did cut some of the roll cage off last night. I've got about 10 packs through it so far and no issues. Have a nice course setup in the backyard. Milstones should be here today. Also ordered a few new servos to try and a bunch of PH connectors so I can use my good charger. Need to order a few more batteries too. I'd like some rc4wd mtr's and their black beadlocks, but they seem to be out of stock everywhere.

Stock WPL driveshafts are made of plastic and press fit to the input shaft/output shaft on the axle and gearbox.

Its typically the first thing to break and depending on your drive style you could break it on the first battery run.

Don't hand your remote to a 8 year old then, lol. Both my sons have broke theirs, and then i let my niece drive another one of my trucks with plastic shafts and she managed to break them after about 20 minutes.

But the kids don't know any better and drive them a lot harder than we do. Now that they have metal drivelines, they stripped their plastic ring gear in the diffs.

Interesting. Mine in stock form would simply stall if the wheels couldnt move anymore. I ended up replacing my motor and going down to a 10T pinion. I lost a lot of wheel speed, but I dont stall anymore. I guess I should order a set of drive shafts for when mine bust. Ive got a lot more torque!

PS: 4 time back to back Subaru owner here. 03/06/09/11. Miss the rawness of the 03 bugeye the most.

Mine stalls pretty easy if it binds up too, not sure how people are breaking drivetrain components so easy but I'm not super violent with mine. I don't feel like the stall affects things too much right now, but I feel like once I've got the wheel spacers and metal beadlocks installed it could be a different story.

Have you replaced your steering servo with something aftermarket yet?

I did! I did 4WS too. Using two of these servos.

BIGW0RM's SCX24 steering slop fix.

The servo stick out 1-2mm further. But it fits and works GREAT!

ARGH! I spent a few hours on my SCX24 and installed a Mamba micro X and a flysky GT5. Not only did I get it all to fit!!! I got it working and it was so smooth! Then I changed from normal front steering mode to the 4WS mode and my rear servo went bezerk. For some reason my cheap servo doesnt like the flysky in crawler modes. If I just keep it to front steer only, it works fine. The second i switch it to four wheel steering, it goes nuts.

ARGH! All that work only to right back to stock. MF'er. lol. Oh well. Im happy with it as is. But all that work for nothing. Shit happens I guess.

They dont seem to react well to 4ws programming. Although they work fine with a signal reverser.

Hmm. I have that servo but it seems to be the older model or something because it's slightly different. I do have some other micro servos I tried to fit. I can send you one to try if you want
