SCX24 Batteries

So another victim of the no LVC on this cool little truck. My son was playing with his and his friend was playing with mine and now neither battery wants to charge. I do know about charging for a minute or so on a standard NiMH charger but I want extra batteries anyway.

So what batteries fit in the standard location and what batteries fit when relocated horizontally across the chassis rails up front in place of the stock ESC location? Can't seem to find dimensions on the stock Dynamite battery, other that what I perceive to be incorrect information on Amazon showing them to be like 5" long, 3" wide, etc. Could be correct but I don't believe so.

This battery fits the rear tray perfectly with room to spare. Not sure how it lays across the front. This is a 430 mah size. Stock is 350mah in capacity.

And I think member Spoo76 has identified a 500mah battery that fits very well too. I cant seem to find his recommendation though.

Is it possible that your charger is bad? I had a battery that I thought went bad and plugged it into a different charger and it charged fine.

No because I've charged other batteries with it since.

Ordered two Gens Ace 800 mAh 2-cells and they work great! Same dimensions as the stock Dynamite 350 mAh battery but about twice as thick. And 40C discharge vs 30C on the stock one. I ordered it on Amazon Tuesday and had it on my doorstep yesterday afternoon via Prime and I think they cost me $10 each. They fit great and give the stock motor just a little more oomph.

"about twice as thick"

Your body doesnt get in the way using the stock battery tray?

Not too bad no. Takes a little bit more force to get both of the body clips in place but no bulging or anything in the middle/rear using the stock configuration.
