So far I really like it. It's already the smoothest crawling RTR even compared to other worm geared crawlers like the Losi or Ambush. The ESC seems very smooth in forward as well.
The ESC/RX has an auxiliary port for the 2 position 3rd channel on the transmitter, as well as 2 constantly powered ports for LEDs.
The suspension is nice and soft, but seems a little less bouncy than some other micros which is nice, I'm still not sure but maybe these friction shocks dampen better than others.
It comes with an extra set of shorter rear links and a shorter rear drive shaft. The installed links are 3mm longer than the RC4WD 1/18 Mini Gelande, but the track width is in between the Trekker and Ambush.
Wheels are 1.0" with of course the expected 7mm hex so we can swap with everything else existing for micro crawlers.
The tires are about 1mm or so taller than an RC4WD Goodyear, while being 1mm or so more narrow. The compound is as soft as what we've seen in the Barrage/RGT/CR-24, however like the Ambush the side walls are thicker to support itself without foams while the tread surface is thinner to conform to rocks and terrain.

The C channel chassis seems really nice and will be great for 1/20 scale bodies.

Are any of the parts compatible with the rc4wd mini Gelande ii? I hope my LHS gets my pre-orders in this week! The wait is killing me

Typical stuff like wheels, tires, motor, shocks could probably be easily made to work

SCX24 with the smaller wheel & tire combo from a Barrage/RGT, CR-24 + A 1/20 body = perfection

Where do those bodies come from? I still haven't got into the Micros but having other bodies to chose from would definitely sweeten the deal.

The green Ford explorer is a 1/20 Lindberg no longer made, however they aren't hard to find and AMT purchased the molds and is slowly releasing them again as AMT models, they haven't gotten to the explorer yet, I assume this hobby Co buyout has slowed it down, but I'd expect to see them.
The 1/20 3rd gen Hilux is extremely rare and if you can even find one they sell for more than twice the price of the scx24

Ugh, feels like it's gonna be impossible to not get one of these, especially when I start seeing them with non-Deadbolt scale bodies.

Does anyone run brushless in the micro stuff? Seems like there's loads of tiny brushless outrunner/revolver style motors out there that would be fun, or is the motor in this far smaller?

Some people have run those revolver style brushless in micro crawlers for years, but the appropriate size isn't easy to find anymore

Interesting - do you happen to know the size that's appropriate for rigs like these?

Maybe John Holmes or Castle or someone will make a system for these if Axial entering the micro market boosts the popularity of this segment. Certainly seems like a lot of people are picking these up right off the bat.

John Holmes is already working on a mini revolver, though I wouldn't expect a micro revolver anytime soon. Perhaps if the market picks up and holds steady there will be enough incentive

@spoo76

Are you gonna do a tear down review anytime soon or run it for a while first? I must say I am initially pleasantly surprised.

I thought it was the angle making the rear links look longer but you covered that it came with shorter ones. Nice touch. Plus the 3rd channel.

I'll do a complete tear down like I have with others and get inside, but now that so many new micros are out I should finally update my old parts comparison post and get in depth.
Honestly it's been great so far and I'm going to have to rearrange my rock pile. Box stock it's easily handling lines other stock rigs can't do.

Not the best picture, I'll try to take a better one after work.

Take your time and do your thing on the rear down.
