Default Emax es09md

Anyone running this servo? Looks to be within 1mm of size to the es08, but stronger, and digital instead of analog.

Looks like it might fit, case dimensions do appear almost identical to the 08ii.

You might have guinea pig it for us..

Anyone know if the fact it is digital will matter? I know some radios won't play well with digital stuff. Or vice versa

I know the stock electronics do not like the analog 08 ones. I tried plugging one into the 3rd channel for 4WS (saw it working online) and it would freak out.

Using a savox servo in that, it would toggle from left middle right just fine.

The EM08 analog ones also did not like the flysky GT5 4WS receiver. It would jump around when I would switch the 4WS mode (on, off, crab, etc).

They do work fine with a signal reverser though.

Strong little servos. But not electronics friendly IMO.

So you are saying go with the digital 09 or the analog 08?

Well, I would try the digital.

Dont get me wrong. The analog one works fine for normal single use. They just didnt like being used in the AUX port if you were going for 4WS.

They didnt like my GT5 receiver with 4WS setup either. Those are the only two limitations I ran into with mine.

I also tried a savox digital one and it worked fine in the AUX port and with the flysky GT5 in 4WS setup.

So if I was going to order one, I would probably try the digital. In fact, I kind of want too now!

I just ordered an ES09MD, I'll get back to you in two weeks to see if it fits lol. It has nearly the same measurements as ES08 so a bit of shaving should be enough. I'll have the Shapeways ES08 mount too.

Nice. Lmk how it works. I want to do this, just hadn't gotten confirmation on anyone who had done it.

Shapeways is doing a sale right now

Did you get it yet? Haha, I know it has only been 6 days, but I'm impatient.

The eBay seller still hasn’t shipped the servo. I sent them a message two days ago and they haven’t responded. Bad luck I guess. I’ll get a refund if they don’t respond again and order from a different seller. Sorry.

DHL so my guess is yeah. The vendor replied and told me to ask for a refund if it doesn’t get here in the next couple of days.

The only concern I have with the ES09D is that it doesn't have metal gears. Does it really need it? Maybe not. But for me at least, I'd rather not have that as a weak link in the build. Since it's a micro, I doubt there's much advantage in running a digital servo vs an analog. But of course I'll be the first to say I could be wrong.

Oh. I didnt know that. In my situation, I have 4WS and there is a lot of stress on mine with my big weighted wheels. I personally would want all metal gear.

Thank you for mentioning that. I almost bought 2 just to try digital over the analog I have.
