Wheel and tire options for the SCX24

I am wondering if anyone knows of any wheel/tire combos that will give me a slightly smaller diameter tire than what comes stock on an SCX24.

Any help will be appreciated.

What about the 1" wheel and tires? The 1:24 scale ecx barrage. ?

I have the rc4wd steel wagon wheels with the rc4wd rock stomper tires. They’re smaller than stock and feel grippier too. Tons of options. Just search micro wheels and tires. Look on rc4wd’s website too.

The barrage is supposedly 1:18th scale. But it is smaller than the scx24.

I got the stamped steel wagon wheels from rc4wd and not sure what tires, but they are 1 cm taller than stock, and way grippier

I ordered steel beadlocks from rc4wd and the Goodyear mt/r and Micky tommy baja claws.

The mt/r are slightly smaller and soo grippy

The Micky tommies are slightly smaller than mt/r and less grippy but still better than stock. I like the tread pattern better on these personally.

Stock 54mm
Mt/r 52mm
Baja 50mm

Both are wider than stock also

I finally put together the 1" RC4WD steel stamped beadlocks with the 1" RC4WD Rox Lox tires. They are so much smaller in hight compared to stock. So much so that it really lowered my clearance and made the truck less able to climb up obstacles.
Can anyone recommend a tire that would be similar to the original stock height?

rc4wd mirco comp tires are super small and super good. baja claws or super swampers are closer to kmc size. scramblers are the biggest and great ground clearance advantage for micro but make the jlu super rollover-ry. especially when you lift the suspension in combo with no weights

You can use any 1.0" wheel since all scx24's use 1.0" wheels. I prefer bead lock's opposed to glued since you can always change tires, not to mention the added lcg weight. As far as a smaller diameter tire I would recommend the rc4wd rok lox (Z-T0028.) These tires are aggressive and sticky especially with their new compound.

Related: what's the *tallest* tire available? Is it still the RC4WD Rok Lox?

(*I misspoke/mistyped. Scramblers ARE the tallest tire available as of 1/4/2021.)

pretty sure RC4WD Scramblers are still the largest available

I'm looking at getting a SCX24 as soon as they come back in stock. I thought most crawlers don't run foam inserts to add more contact at the ground. Looking at the RC4WD wheels and tires as a first upgrade.

I have been looking at the SSD bead locks. Just haven’t found them in stock yet. The center ring on them is brass.

As of right now I am running the Breaker 1.0s from RC4WD and their micro comps.

Re: Wheel and tire options for the SCX24

So I've been looking at the RC4WD tires, but can't decide what to get. I have the C10 SCX24 so the tires OD measures in around 1.9 inches. I'm not entirely sure if I want to go taller, thinking that would raise my CG, but I was thinking bigger diameter means easier rolling resistance.

I am new to crawling so I am still learning the things. Do I go up in size or do I look for something that has a chunkier tread pattern?

Please help!

Just be careful when you put together tire/wheel combos. Not all 1" wheels fit 1" all tires.

Ask me how I know.........

DEFINETLY Reccomend rc4wd's 1.0 inch Rock Crusher tires. put them on my 66 chevy fleet side, looks WAY more scale.

Is that a Revell 1/24 body? I was looking at the 66 'Burban body.

I have the Rock Creepers and they are smaller diameter but much wider than stock. Tons of grip! I ran foams at first but they were way too stiff no foam works well for me.

RC4WD RokLox are also (what i consider) "significantly" smaller diameter than, say, RC4WD Goodyear Wrangler mt's. And tbh, for me, personally ...yet to find a better "all-around" crawling tire than the MT Wranglers!
