Default Short Wheelbase SCX24

Slipping a 1/24 pickup body on but i need to shorten the wheelbase..

Having some difficulty here with these little tiny links... is there a way to push out the tiny little plastic heim bearings or whatever you want to call em...

just trying to use the shorter links that came with it to shorten things up a bit without spending any $$$ on a piece of styrene tubing and use less than a half inch of it.

cut the end off ink tube from a pen to sleeve the one end... but where it attaches to the top of the axle needs to have one of those tiny black sleeves pressed in to a short one...

axial gave us links but they are junk without the sleeves...

I may be better off just ordering a new set of links and using some side cutters to cut the sleeves out and press them into the shorter links supplied with the kit?

Any tips?

Not really wanting to cut links and sleeve a piece of metal over and super glue it... just trying to use what it came with.

Feels like they will just collapse if I push on em.

I just pushed them out with the tip of my hex driver, but anything similar should work. Maybe a ballpoint pen could work. Keep in mind they should only push out and in from one side

Well I was able to get them out by slipping a similar size hex key through.

Just as you posted too!

Thanks either way back to putting this beast together!

I'd rather just cut and drill the stock rod ends to fit 2-56 threaded rod. Those are a nice alternative though and a lot more hassle-free. Don't have to worry about making mistakes with a dremel/drill.
