Default Carisma-scx24 hybrid shocks

Alternative to mounting carisma shocks on the cheap.
All you need is some heat shrink I doubled up on the top end. The cap is nice & tight with no oil leakage.

Some plumbers tape would prob work too.

Saw your post about this on IG. Nice mod. I'm going to have to try this with the set I have. I set them aside right after I assembled them when I realized that I needed to work on a mounting solution and haven't got back to them yet.

I tried this out. Whatever heat shrink tubing I had did not conform as nicely to the threads as in your pictures (I also had to use 2 layers for the scx24 caps to even get any purchase) and the shock oil has been super leaky out of the top.
Might try the plumbers tape

The shock travel is also not super smooth (gets stuck sometimes, even) and I'm not sure what to do about it. I'm using 25wt oil (as in the carisma shocks instructions) but with the stiffness of the springs I'm thinking that the carisma rig might just have been heavier? Not super sure, pretty new to all this
