Default ESC suggestion for SCX24

My ESC quit after like 2 battery packs in my new SCX24. Between this and the non-functional battery charger, I can't say that I'm impressed with the electronics quality on this truck.

Anyway... I need an ESC. What's a decent ESC that's going to give me good low speed control and still fit reasonably well in the truck?

Default ESC suggestion for SCX24

I’ve always gone with the little 10-15amp XYZ style ESCs on small 250mAh 2s lipo on my micros. But you’d need a Tx/Rx for it. You can use a conventional sized Rx if you pop the housing off of it. A few that had the space for it I’ve used large heat shrink and covered the dehoused ESC board.

Do those small cheap ESCs have the low speed control that you need for a crawler?

Hard to say really. Some I put in from the beginning and never ran on original electronics very long. Especially the ones that came with a 4.8v battery.

SCX24 has worm gear axles and therefore does not really need as fine a throttle control/drag brake, but I'd still rather have a good quality esc as it will crawl that much better.

True.

The ones I have are 2 Losi micros and the Barrage. But on the Barrage I put a Sumo style tranny.
