Default My build: SCX24 3d printer shenanigans

AKA social distancing build

Thingiverse links:
Shock Mounting

Mods purchased:
- Carisma MSA-1e Oily Shocks
- Hot Racing wheel weights

Mods made:
- Axle-mounted shock adapters for carisma shocks
- ESC platform with holes for carisma shocks
- Battery platform with holes for carisma shocks
- Stinger-style bumper
- Sleeker roll cage
- Rock sliders with change purse
- Trashy body clips for rear

Todo:
- better ESC mounting solution
- better removable body fastener

Unsolved problems:
- at medium & high speed settings it likes to auto reverse. (if anyone has any clue why this is happening and how to stop it I'd be very grateful. vid)

Tragically, after all this effort to mount the carisma shocks (ostensibly), I discovered that I lost one of the tiny O-rings . Classic. I need to figure out where to buy tiny o-rings.

Stinger bumper & rubberband steering mod:

Carisma shocks & mount:

Under the hood:

add weight for MERE PENNIES

Have you tried to turn on your receiver before you turn on the car having it set up in the high speed position from the start?

Love what you've done! I just ordered myself a C10 and a Deadbolt so I'm super excited. It's been about 5 years since I've had a rc rig and love builds like these for ideas. I'm super amazed at the 3d printer things.

What kind of printer are you using?

How are the Carisma shocks working out for you over stock?

Looks great man, can’t wait for some of my little mods to show up. Lots of “little” parts with shipping delays...

I'm looking to add the Carisma shocks to my SCX24. Your solution looks to be about the best I have seen.

Are you able to provide the STL files so that I could print the parts please?

I'm on an Ender 3 Pro. It's been super fun to be able to print out these mods!

The Carisma shocks are fun. It's nice having more travel, but I've had to fiddle with it a fair amount to avoid getting too much. But to be honest it's more of a "can I do this" than a "should I do this" :p

I haven't been able to get them to hold the oil without leaking tho.

Thanks for the reminder! I haven't been working on this project lately, but I'll try to get them up on thingiverse tonight!

Did you manage to get the stl files uploaded to thingiverse? The thingiverse search is bit broken at the moment so I did look but couldn't see anything

Nice job! I'm interested in the files too. I have those shocks but only the rear are mounted. Also, mine leak too.

I'm planning a similar build! My scx24 also auto reverses. Someone else said it was a bad esc and needed to get it warrantied.

My bad, I should read more before I add my $.02 late at night. it does sound like a bad esc. Or a bad bind.
