Default Scx24 motor upgrades?

So I got my kido a scx24 for her birthday, and burned out the motor 2 months later, got a new motor and it lasted a day. So now I cant find a motor and dont want to keep burning up the little stock ones. The rig has brass steering knuckles, diff covers, and aluminum skid, so its pulling some weight.

Seems like the motor issue is becoming more common. Any 030 motor from the other available micros should be a direct swap, usually even the pinion. Well, you may have to solder on motor wires.
Look for the 1/18 Mini Gelande 030 motor or if you have an old stash any of the brushed Losi micro motors.

You can also use the 050 motors from the ECX Barrage. It's like a longer version of the 030 motors, but the motor mount holes are reversed.
You can drill new motor mount holes or order a new motor plate from shapeways.

Also on shapeways are GamyRCs motor mounts for 130/180 motors

Brushless would require a new ESC.

I'm very new to RC cars, and recently got scx24 and want to upgrade the motor. Can I say like

FF-030 = 130 motor?
FF-050 = 180 motor?

I think the one in scx24 is equivalent to FF-030=130, so the next natural upgrade would be FF-050=180 motor without requiring the change of ESC?

However, I couldn't find any shops where I can buy ff-050 in Germany where I'm currently living, but I seem to be able to get 180 motors from aliexpress. Would the 180 motors work for scx24 as an upgrade?

FF- is just used by that motor manufacturer I believe, but others make that size 030 without the FF label.
I also don't believe it applies to the larger 130 motor.
130/180 are a different larger motor that doesn't directly bolt up, but it work with a custom motor plate and new pinion gear as the motor shaft is 2mm not 1.5mm like the 030

030 is the size of the stock SCX24 motor. It's used on almost every micro crawler and the easiest to swap.
050 is a longer version of that sized motor. It's used in the ECX Barrage, FTX Outback,& RGT Adventurer. The motor mount holes are opposite, but it's easy to drill new holes in the motor plate.

And again 130 is larger than of the above and is what was used in xmods back in the day. You will need a custom motor mount from shapeways.
180 is a longer version of that.

For a direct bolt in motor other than maybe swapping your pinion and soldering motor wires the HobbyPlus CR-24 motors are a good option, they come in stock, 88t which is slower and has more torque, and 100t which is even slower with more torque. The 100t is similar to the RC4WD.
The HobbyPlus motors should be available on AsiaTees and the truck itself is sold in Germany marketed under a different brand

If those HobbyPlus motors aren't available I would look into the FTX Outback & RGT Adventurer 050 motors. Also available on AsiaTees.

This is a direct bolt in to stock and about the same power and speed
https://www.asiatees.com/display?Hob...27&pid=1
Also a bolt in with a little more torque and slower speed
https://www.asiatees.com/display?Hob...00&pid=1
Wow! That's so wonderful and complete answer! It is very clear now, and I feel like I know what to do or search for.

Thank you very much!

Again FF-030 only refers to the RC4WD motor, the rest are just 030 size.
And again, as far as the motor mount you shouldn't need one for the 030. Only the 050 or 130

Hi Guys,

I just came across "XSPEED MINIZ MOTOR-V MZW8P".
https://rc.kyosho.com/en/mzw8p.html
How about this?

I was actually going to buy "Hobby Plus 100T High Torque Motor for CR-18" (https://www.asiatees.com/display?id=...us&model=CR-18).

Which one would be better for my scx24 wrangler?

I used a old losi micro motor. They run very hot I noticed a spot on the trans that started to melt. The new deadbolt I bought my son seems way smoother then mine was when it was new. I’m trying not the rc4wd 030 since the stock motor is sold out pretty much everywhere.
