Default Scx24, where to start?!

So my brother and I just picked up two scx24 and a few packs in each are having a blast. Of course, both of us are identifying things we dislike or areas we think we can make the best upgrades. Just wanted to see what the experts think here are what the best big improvement upgrades are before we both throw our wallets at these things haha.

His plan:
-rock sliders
-HR diff covers and knuckles
-spare tire on the rear of the jeep for weight
-eventually add the HR wheel weights
-mod19rc improved steering link

My plan:
-mod19rc LCG esc and battery mounts
-mod19rc improved steering link
-mod19rc sliders
-mod19rc servo mount and emax servo

I'm sure combined all this would be epic but we are taking different starting steps. Are we missing anything big that's a huge game changer for our trucks?

Thanks all!

One of the first things I did to both of mine was add an o-ring to the shocks to give it some pre load. Super cheap and helps control that body wiggle

Cool project. I should be getting my Deadbolt Monday (keeps getting delayed by FedEx) so I'll be watching to see how you like these mods.

Should be fun. Only bummer is the stuff from Shape Ways is going to take a month to arrive.

Funny story, my brother and I just bought some of these too. They are a blast. We've been experimenting with some different mods between the two. The number one mod that we see makes a huge difference is the HR diff covers. The extra weight down there helped out tremendously.

The next thing I would do, is put a little grease in them shocks and fab something above the springs to give a little better compression (zip ties work well, I used some rubber things I found in my work truck). Plenty of people got some YouTubes on doing this. I would attach some pics, but I'm a noob and still trying to figure this forum thing out.

Here's a link to my PB Gallery you can check out though.

I'll second the grease and the spacers. I got spacers on ebay 4 bucks come 4 sizes 5 of each size. Used 2mm on front and rear of my deadbolt. Used 3mm front and rear on my jeep. This with a dab of silicone grease inside got rid of all body wobble. Those size spacers still allow full suspension flex.

So I happened across the mil stone weighted wideners and ordered those right up. They came in today and man are those an absolute game changer even on my otherwise stock truck. Extra width and weight down low makes side hilling so much better let alone its sturdiness now when crawling through stuff. Fantastic upgrade!

Going to be a bit before the shape ways stuff arrives but looking forward to the improved steering linkage arriving along with the servo mount for the Emax es08ma II that I have coming. That will tighten up and strengthen up the steering which will be great.

Also looking forward to the low CG esc and battery tray as well as some sliders.

Man this truck is fun but I'm definitely doubling it's price in upgrades hahaha

Don't those spacers also raise the height of the truck?

Widen yes, weight yes, a spacer can't raise the height though. It's in line with the axles.

Those are what we got.

Sorry, I meant the shock spacers that SCX10 JK is using.
