Default Scx24 sound

Some help please before I tear down the scx24.
I was driving today, and the car fel down from 2-3 feet.
When I picked it up the sound of the drivetrain wasn't the same as before.
Speed and torque are the same.

Someone got an idea where to look at? Gearbox or pinion? Other ideas? Motor?

Please take a look at the short video I made.

Check pinion-spur gear mesh.

Yeah possible something shifted and messed up your spur gear mesh. Just start with the easiest thing first. As you were moving the car around you could tell when the sound was higher or lower which might be hard to do by ear on such a small rig. Try moving your phone around the car more slowly and pay attention where your phone mic is and see where the sound is the loudest. That will point you to your problem spot. It is hard to tell on your video as we don't know where your mic is in relation to your camera and you went so fast around the different areas. I did notice the was quitest when you looked at the front and read of the car which would make it less likely to be a diff issue.

Allright, looking at the pinion/spur/gearbox equals a teardown haha.

As far as I can tell all teeth are looking good and the motor also sounds good when I drive it without the gearbox.

Should I put some grease in the gears? There was no grease in the gearbox when I opened it.

No grease, it will just collect grime and small rocks.

After an inspection I put it all back together, and somehow it runs silky smooth again.

My guess that the spur shaft shifted a little bit during the landing and that caused the tickering noise

Motor shifted when it took the fall, you took it all apart to inspect, put it back together with proper pinion/spur mesh and now all smooth and quiet.
