Default Brushless motor

Cariama 8000kv = broken drive shaft & bent axle.

Pics and video once it’s up and running again.

You should probably add some context to this random post

What more is needed? I installed a brushless motor in my Scx24 and broke a few parts.

It's not surprising parts broke. It's an 8000kv brushless motor on a worm gear crawler, with what looks like a large pinion and small spur offering less gear reduction than stock.

Stock spur just the .05 mod. 15t pinion. New pinion arriving tomorrow. It only broke when I started doing doughnuts. With throttle control I can crawl as slow as stock.

If it's mod 0.5 and the same tooth count, then it's not the same gearing as the stock mod 0.3. Different gear pitch has physically larger teeth, which makes larger gears. It helps to think of them as pulleys rather than gears in this case.
You have the same gearing as going to a bigger pinion and smaller spur which makes it really fast, as well as a fast high KV motor.
It's not a good setup for a crawler as it's going to lack low speed throttle control, but it will be fast and break parts. Keep an eye on motor and ESC temps with that gearing.

I ran 2 a full through a full battery crawling with my son and his stock Scx24 had no issues all that is needed is throttle control. Yes it is fast if I choose. But I only did this to see if I could. Also after a battery and a half the motor was cooler then the stock set up. Esc was also fine. The sidewinder micro can handle it.

I think the problem is the worm gears. If you put that motor into a crawler with normal gears in the axle you’d have a fast little rig going.

It’s fast even with the worm gears. Like I said the axle broke when I was doing doughnuts. The rear axle broke at the steering knuckle. Looks like the t bone popped out of the cap. Bent the pin. I’m going to play with the gearing to see what I can change.

You might also check that the pins on the ends of the dogbones are secured as they do pop loose. I've used CA to fix them.
If those pop loose the pin does a lot of damage to the knuckle, it may even break it.

That’s exactly what happened. The pin came out slightly, ground into the brass hub and twisted till the axle snapped

Hey what motor mount is that? Does it allow pinion down to 12T?
