Default Just upgraded to an EMAXX servo

WOW!!! what a difference from the stock unit.

Although my stocker was still working fine after watching a few videos I figured for the $20 for the Emaxx its worth a shot. Besides the stock one was " lacking " in the power department.

This should be the #1 mod done to these things, the difference is unreal and the Emaxx has enough grunt to shift my JLU over if the front wheels are a little bound up.

Id also like to thank everyone who has posted either a review or a how to about these, very helpful.

I used the silver screws the emaxx came with to mount it with 3d printed spacers and modified the 4 leg servo horn. Other than that business as usual.

$20?? I picked up 4 for $20.
It's also worth replacing the factory drag link (steering link) in between the knuckles. It flexes easily. It's easy to make one from metal tube or you can spend $7-8 on the hot Racing version.

The EMAX was a huge upgrade for my rig too. It finally has the steering power I expect from a crawler. I hear some of them have some glitching issues, but I'm hoping mine goes the distance.

Let us know when the Emax starts glitching and locking to the left. I had three do that in two different trucks, after the first just flat-out failed.

Now using a TiankongRC MG90S steering servo in three trucks. Fits the stock mount using longer bolts. The horn projects further forward than stock.
Strong, smooth, ZERO issues.
The MG90S is also less expensive.

I think from the pic that’s an SCX24? If so which mounting bolts would I need to make this fit mine? I know you said they need to be longer but I wasn’t sure if that meant they come with longer bolts or if I need to buy them separately?

Need to source the longer bolts separately. Mine are from uxcell via Amazon.

Okay thanks! Do you happen to still have a link to the purchase or do you remember how long exactly they need to be?

My question, too.
Same problem from two different orders.

I had my Emax stick to the left one time. I shut it off centered it by hand & it has been fine since.

I should also note I set the D/R on the TX so the servo wasn't trying to over work itself, should help with the life of it
