LED light kits for the SCX24

Any have any experience with light kits on the scx24's? I have the Jeep and C10, and want to get the LED's off the bumper and into headlights where they belong.

Don't they just clip Into the headlights? Unclip them from the bumper and then install in the headlight bucket. If you want to run both the factory LED setup is available

Well that may just work for the C10. I'll need to lengthen the wire so I can change the battery. The Jeep on the other hand does not have light buckets for the headlights.

Looks like there are some eBay options for tail lights as well. Anyone have a setup installed on theirs?

There's headlight bucket kits for the Jeep body.
Google scx24 jeep headlights and you should see them listed on amain,ebay, amazon ect

i have the headlight and tail light setups on my jeep body. got them off ebay. both fit good without any issues. ill try to get some pics when i get home later.

FYI, back to the C10, unclipping them from the bumper and clipping them into the headlight fittings is exactly what I did. I made/installed a JST extender so that I can unplug when lifting the body. I’d recommend this setup so you don’t have to fuss with extra long wires.

I’ve been thinking of getting a second set to have them both in the bumper and headlights, but if I only have them in one place, it makes more sense to me to have them in the headlights.

Looks good. It appears that you left the headlight stickers in place as well. Do the LEDs shine though enough to cast a beam for night time crawling?

That’s right, I did leave the headlight stickers there. The LEDs kind of push out the stickers a bit when you install them. They’re pretty bright little LEDs, so I don’t think you loose too much keeping the stickers there. It’s easy enough to just peal the stickers off if you think it’s not bright enough.

I’d say if you’re doing a lot of night time crawling, you may want lights in both the bumper and the headlight sockets.

I pulled the stickers and painted the light buckets with a silver sharpie when I relocated my lights.

Thanks, looks good and wont obstruct the light output.

I found a kit on eBay which adds amber lights to the bumper and warm white headlights. Hopefully I'll have a chance to get it installed soon. Not sure If I'll pull the sticker or not yet, but certainly like your option.
