Default SCX24 C10 Build

Hi All,

I am new to the world of RC cars and figured a smaller 1/24 scale would be an easy first step. These are really fun little trucks and the parts are reasonably priced.

Current mods:
-Polyjet 3D printed front and rear bumpers & fuel cell
-Treal nuckles
-Treal steering links
-Treal boulder bars/chassis weights
-Hot Racing servo bracket
-Emax servo upgrade
-Amazon beadlock wheels
-Injora Super Swampers
-Removed chrome from bumpers using a combination of cleaning solutions and aluminum wheel cleaner

After adding all that extra weight, I have noticed the motor is struggling a bit. Looking at other options. If you have any recommendations let me know.

Nice! I want to build a c10 scx24 as well, have a deadbolt currently. I think the 050 size motor from the 1/18 scale trucks is the cheapest, easiest way to get a bit more torque. I have not tried it personally however.

The bumpers is it a custom file you made or did you find a seller on shapeways/thingiverse? Would love a set for my C10

They are custom parts that I made. Would be happy to share the stl or step files if you'd like to print or modify them.

Good looking truck ... those bumpers looks great on the truck along with the fuel cell. I have wondered what to do in the raised bed area and this is a great idea.

I'll try to get some of these 3D files uploaded soon.

In the mean time, I just built out this rear cage section. The plan is to bolt it to the back of the cab and then mount it onto the rear shock mounts. Looks like it may be a while to get it back from shapeways, but if all works well I'll upload this too.

Nope, there's nothing there. Just brings up a 404 error.

They should work now, apparently Thingiverse makes new accounts wait 24 hours before publishing them.

Added a few things over the weekend:

-Treal Front and Rear Diff Covers
-Treal Chassis Skid Plate
-Treal High Clearance Links
-Treal Transmission Case
-Treal Gearbox Covers
-Hot Racing SS Motor Plate
-Hot Racing +4mm Steel Drive Stub Axles
-RGT 050 Motor

The Treal Gearbox Cover doesn't exactly fit with the 050 RGT motor due to the opposite orientation of the motor mounting screws. I ended up attaching it using one screw and letting the opposite side shift downward a bit.

I also converted the battery over to a JST connector.

Also fried my ECS by accidently plugging the battery into the motor port...but luckily was able to find an extra in a relatively short period of time.

Nice build. The fuel cell and wheels makes a world of difference. Good job on designing the cage too, 3D designing was never my strong suit

These little trucks have always caught my attention, but I can never pull the trigger on one because I'm not sure where I'd run it. Plus, working on even smaller stuff with these big hands lol.

But, I may just have to get one and try it out.

Thanks!

Cage images below, this was the first try and I need to make some adjustments to the mounting plate and the rear window so it mounts flush. Pretty happy with the shapeways print.

Once I know that the updated design fits, I'll post the file so anyone can print it. Shapeways was about $30 made from MJF nylon glass filled with shipping and tax.

Below are the links for the rear cage and rear bumper support. In order to use the cage, you will also need to print the rear body mounts and cage mount (x2). I also adhered the cage to the back of the cab using really thin 3M foam tape.
