Mini-Z 4x4 Jimny TS4 - Lizard,Lights,Sound,Winch

So this was originally posted under a pseudonym, TheScaleCrawler. It was an account I had to create because I was locked out of my original account and couldn’t get back in. PS, thank you to 1BadJeepBruiser for helping me to reset the password!

Now that I’m back into my original account, I’ve copied this thread over and I’ll start adding in all the build notes.

The Kyosho in-runner didn't work out too well. It technically worked, but had a lot of cogging with the stock transmission. It had really great slow FOC control, but I had to set my Iguana to only 70% power. It was fast.

I ended up switching to this https://www.ebay.com/itm/164839035658?var=464326763996 but will actually put a Micro Komodo in when they hit Asiatees.com

This is the transmission I'm using right now https://www.ebay.com/itm/373548090035

I haven't had the chance to add any of the build notes or photos... been too sick from my cancer treatments.

I still plan on giving full details of this build in future posts as I've made many more changes.

Upgraded to the Furitek Akashi frame, micro Komodo, and Furitek Kyosho adapter. I also tried the Bolt Servo designed for the MiniZ 4x4s. I hate to say it, but the Akashi Frame and Bolt Servo are garbage.

Bolt Servo = ZERO difference from the stock servo, which means terrible turning radius and no power in tight places

Akashi Frame, half of the screws didn’t fit. It won’t accept eMax/Mofo Black style servos without some major fiddling. NOT WORTH $50. This should be $9.99-$15.99 and they need to adjust it to fit other servos. I was able to cram an eMax Servo into mine and it’s amazing. Tight turns and lots of power. https://youtu.be/yDtHWxUQQ_k (Jimny is on second half of video)

I also added some more scale bits to the roof. Found some 1/24 “pelican” cases on eBay.
