Well, amongst the other builds rigs that just need to be put back together, I decided to get another rig, with the full intentions of blowing it apart and build it a little different. Before it ever showed up, I had tires, wheels and a body ordered up. Because not many are building with the RC4WD Brick Edition tires, I ordered up a set of those. Then I started looking for a set of wheels I liked. I found some 3D printed wheels that I liked. Super simple design that I will likely build some custom centers for, which will complete their look. On the body, I’m leaving that one for a later reveal. The boy already “borrowed” the rear tires and wheels for his Panda 4x4… ![]() ![]() ![]() One thing I am not sure of, should o paint the wheels? If so, what color would look decent? Probably a hard question, when it’s more of a personal one, as well as I’m not sure what color I’ll be painting the body either. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I installed an SCX24 transmission, 1400kv Surpass Motor, Tegu ESC and threw some paint on the 3D printed wheels. Slow speed control is amazing, but it cogs/studders when it hits resistance. This will likely be resolved with some tuning and I think I am going to drop in the 1200kv motor, as the 1400kv is for my SCX24 and the 1200kv should slow it down a bit. One thing of note, when installing an SCX24 Transmission, you will have some custom driveline work ahead of you. Mine did not come out great, but should be sufficient for my slow speeds. The wheels came out okay, I should have sprayed more of a gray color, instead of the silver. They look a bit too “sparkly”, but I have some ideas to tone them down a little. ![]() Last edited by AK KRAWLER; 04-02-2022 at 03:26 PM. |

I did some work on the wheels yesterday and I think they’re getting close to done. ![]() ![]() I added a shape element to the center and I think I might still mist them with some satin black to tone down the glitter effect on the beadlock rings. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFbuU3uH2G0 I tested it before I started with the bigger tires and stretching the rear axle a bit and it was pretty darn nice ![]() | |

| ![]() Thanks man, I’m really liking some these not so common builds. Some of it’s a pain with all the trial and error, but still fun. I hope to find some stock driveshafts that work without having to modify them, but we’ll see. Here she is with just the 4 tires. ![]() ![]() Next to the SCX24 build ![]() I do like its size in comparison to the SCX24. It’s a nice in between size, especially once it is stretched and has the bigger tires. ![]() Mocked up with all 6 tires/wheels installed. ![]() |

Might be easier to re design a skid to accommodate a trx4-m transmission. Uses same shafts as the panda. Im actually just doing the opposite and swaping the panda axles onto a trx4-m because they are a whole hex wider. Going to use the fortnite bear as a body though. Sits fine over the trx4-m but i want some extra stick out with the trx4-m canyon trails. My next venture will be to see if the ratio is different between the axles. May build a “comp rig” My one gripe about the panda.. the trans and motor. Cant use a traxxas motor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
