So, the wife has never really shown much interest in the hobby, but pretty much lets me do my thing. She is a GM Girl, so I am going to use my old frame rails, Barage motor, a green C10 body and likely some stock C10 tires/wheels, or possibly set her up with something different on the tires/wheels. I will likely use the stock Tx / Rx, but have ordered a ASX24 ESC. It should be a fun little crawler for her and a fairly inexpensive way to see if she wants to be in the hobby to crawl around with the kids and I. More updates and pic to come as I have time. |

Well, I finally put some time into her little truck and got it to the 95% mark. It is running a stock SCX24 Receiver/ ESC, EMax Servo, RGT .50 Motor, Injora aluminum high clearance links, Treal metal driveshafts and new stock SCX24 axles. I did install some RGT Shocks, but the springs were WAY too stiff for the lightweight SCX24. I removed the springs and it sits about perfect now. With the springs installed ![]() ![]() With the springs removed, as well as the front bumper and roll bar installed. ![]() ![]() ![]() I dig it and lucky for me, she loves it too ![]() Last edited by AK KRAWLER; 04-27-2022 at 01:01 PM. |

Nice, still trying to get my wife more interested. she drove the SCX24 Gladiator when we were on vacation at the coast and seemed to enjoy it. She told me she could never drive anything bigger than that though.

Thanks Doom. I plan to see how well she bites on this one and then set her up for some bigger stuff with the old AX10 I have waiting in the wings to finish. Here is the AX10 Build New (old) rig - AX10 I think It should be fairly capable when finished and allow her to krawl past us all ![]() |

So, the family went camping last weekend. I was not there, as I had to work. The wife wanted to take her SCX24, so she loaded the rig, transmitter and charger into the motorhome, along with all of our other stuff. Got out to the site, charged the battery and she said the truck would not do anything. So, it looks like I will need to look at it when I get home. I have some suspicions... |

Okay, got home last night and messed with it a bit and it looks like the receiver will not stay bound to the transmitter. I got it to bind once and drove it around a little. Now, no dice, the receiver just blinks with the red blinking light. The steering servo works like a champ though ![]() |

Not too many changes, or issues over the last year. The stock battery started puffing up and the stock charger gave up the ghost. I added a different battery and will use my regular charger, pretty much what I wanted to do anyway. I did buy some magnets mounts off Etsy and now the body says on ![]() I think now the only thing I will be doing is wheels/tires and eventually installing ASC24 ESC. Her and the kids have loved running it around the living room this winter. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
