Meet Doug! This has to be the smallest crawler I’ve run, But it’s a big league performer. So I read about it and was intrigued. Surprised that I could get it (in red)in two days from Amazon. So I did, and came RTR. Why Doug? Well the Chinese are known for knock offs, and I guess translation was bad…… I did try it with stock shocks…… hmmmm Great rock bouncer, but the shocks come dry, but a complete o ring set is included. Building the shocks was a heart attack, until I found the cap I launched 10 feet. Green slime 6 drops of 30w and the shocks worked! No the shocks don’t leak, and I’ve got the metal portal gears coming in. |

| Re: New FMS 1/24 power wagon No I can’t leave things alone. They also don’t come in sparkling orange. Standard Tamiya TS31 bright Orange, topped with PS33 lamé flake, then buried in clear, waiting for it to cure so I can polish it out. Also painted the stock red wheels, but may do something different there. Hang up and Drive |

| Re: New FMS 1/24 power wagon Man, that looks pretty damn nice Mike!!! Nice choice of color In your previous post, was that the original red? It looks darker than in the "stock" pictures online. Last edited by AK KRAWLER; 07-15-2022 at 10:38 AM. |

but every real photo from an actual owner seems to be a deep metallic red, maybe "candy apple red" depending on the lighting.

Yes, as noted above it’s closer to metallic maroon, but wheels red. I’m done with the touch up, amazing what detail painting does. This almost looks red, but it’s bright Orange Hang up and Drive

Looks great, Mike. Gotta ask... are you going to weather/ patina it? Would look sweet either way... just wondering.

Thanks, but I don’t think so, I’m not scratching an interior either. I did get some other wheels and tires, waiting on some different wheel nuts. Hang up and Drive

Nice job, mikemcE! I'm super-stoked at the extremely affordable replacement/upgrade parts prices, too - specifically the fender/running board part that has the little prong that allow the body to snap on and off the chassis. I was very worried I'd break that off mine and be outta luck with the fix - the left/right pair are only $5.99! |

And the stretched and dropped look is exactly what the Fxc needs IMO

One question I have and I do not remember seeing the answer mentioned, is ... what size are the stock tires and wheels? They are obviously larger than 1.0's. Are they 1.2, 1.55, 1.7's, or some other size rendition?

Rims are 1.4ish tires are 60mm tall. Dig the color Mike! I really wanted to keep that awesome cage from fms but my soldering gun had different plans. Also got started on number two stretched the rear out 16mm via brass trailing arms and working on a dual shock setup. Shooting for go fast with some air time type build. Thank you Chevy55. Unfortunate that it’s a proprietary size… Awesome looking brass work man! I don’t have that level of talent. |

The detail painting was quite easy as everything unscrewed and minimal taping needed. Quick wash , I did prime the body before paint, nothing but Tamiya rattle cans Hang up and Drive

Thanks Alaska! It’s more practice than talent. Got the fenders and running boards shaved up on the caged build. Should eliminate a lot of hang up problems. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
