SCX24 ESC burned up

What are people running for replacement ESC and receivers in the SCX24? Mine just had a melt down after the second battery. The horizon 2 in 1 unit is backordered for a month or so. Is the AE-6 compatible with the Horizon remote by any chance?

According to all I've read/heard, the ESCs and/or motors in the SCX24s are known to have very short lives. It's too bad Axial/Horizon Hobbies refuses to do anything about it. If your SCX24 is still under warranty, contact them immediately for a free warranty replacement. Other than that, don't bother posting to replace it with the stock ESC/motor, sad it's just money down the toilet.

IIRC from what somebody here was saying recently, no they're not compatible. He was having issues not being able to bind his Horizon transmitter with a replacement esc or rx. Maybe b/c the ae6 was on back-order also.

I can confirm that they are NOT compatible.
Crazy, I know. The horizon esc HRZ00015 that came in my axial gladiator got fried. My fault 100%. Plugged battery into wrong port, zap. Ordered the axial ae-6 as it was in stock. No go.
Almost 2 months later, my hrz00015 has shipped. Should have it after the holiday.
