Is this a new truck on the horizon? Saw the teaser ad on one of those Failbook groups that seem to get the scoop on new releases. Someone else lightened up and altered the dark teaser graphic to reveal it is, the best I can tell, a 1970s-1980s Unimog U1300L. Looks like portal axles and skinny MIL MPT Continental tires. Might actually be a military version, who knows. I suspect it will be a hard body with scale features, an interior and all the things we expect from WPL and MN. LDR/C is the same company that has produced the 1:18 AE86 Drift Car from the Japanese manga series known as Initial D https://usa.banggood.com/LDR-or-C-LD...r_warehouse=CN Release date would seem to be October 28. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

LDR/C product LD-P06 1:12 U1300L Good guess on my part on the exact type of Unimog. I don't know anything about Unimogs. That frame and running gear is just beautiful. I like scale looks and functionality. Definitely looking like a mid 1980's German Bundeswehr truck. Took some screenshots from a slideshow teaser....... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

More photos: Looks like a WPL C24 style aluminum frame and a front and rear lighting kit. Whoop-dee-doo. ![]() CVT style steering knuckles with a good steering angle. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I just did a little bit of math. U1300 wheelbase is 128 all the way to 150 inches. This having a 8.11 inch wheelbase, makes their math way off. This is more along the 1/16 scale size. Although, I'd like to see it next to a scx10 for size comparison. LOSI definitely has their 1/10 scale way off.

I think I came up with a scale of 1/15 or 1/14.7, something like that. I could not find a similar 1/1 Unimog that had the same amount of bed overhang (long bed) as the product photo so I gave up on that. Not sure I will ever have one in my hands. Another way to determine scale is with a figure. I wish it was 1/12 scale because it would be quite large but a still manageable bookshelf size. I saw that sneak preview video on YT from RC Models and Mods. Thanks for linking it here, RødeDK Now listed on Ali for 69.99 and free shipping to US. I understand this is "pre-order" status and will ship on the 28th as originally planned. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32568...jKIZ7r1HSq_fdQ Word is it uses RBR/C portal axles, the lackluster plastic and metal type that is reportedly prone to breakage. Since I have no experience with those, I imagine they are ok for *trail truck* use and not severe bashing. OR, they may have fixed that issue for this truck... I have seen a running video on Failbook with the optional trailer and the trailer behaves like it has two points of articulation (double joints) which didn't seem to track true and was unstable. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I like to use tamiya 1/10 vehicles as a reference, for a true 1:10 scale

I've ordered one, so we'll have to see if it can be used for anything.

![]() I am undecided, there's way too many products out there and I don't need a bazillion toys ![]() But I might get the trailer. It might be suitable for many uses/many scales because there's different sizes of trailers. | |
