Hey Guys! Got something different for you guys today. I have been working on a custom chassis for the SCX24. This one is completely original and only 2 exist so far. I kinda got tired of some of the aftermarket chassis available here. The link positions seem to put the axles in weird places. And dealing with the tiny nuts for the screws. Well first up was deciding what stock parts would get used… Turns out just axles and transmission only. Then research into four link suspension design. Here’s what came out: ![]() ![]() This was the second design after figuring out how to get the C10 links to work with an angled flat skid. The new skid angles the transmission back to normal as well. Once the design was completed, it was time to get it made. Went with SendCutSend for the rails and Shapeways for the rest. ![]() These prototypes are grade 5 titanium, but haven’t been polished yet. The tolerances on these is really good! All the screw holes are perfect. Will be sending more orders to them for sure. ![]() ![]() Here’s the build starting to come together. The model I sent to Shapeways needs to be adjusted. Some clearance for the links on the skid plate and a missing tab. Live and learn. ![]() And here she is ready for testing! There will be more to come. Maybe some video as well this time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That's a good looking design! I like the built in magnet mount/chassis spacers. Following along to see more! Can't wait to see how it performs! |

Very cool! Being able to design and have produced such high quality parts is addicting. I feel your pain when it comes to paying for parts and realizing you need to make a few tweaks. I try to 3D print my prototypes at home first when possible, although that’s not always feasible. Look forward to seeing more Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I live in an apartment, so no 3D printer sadly. I would love to test print before sending off. Quote:
The magnet tray in the front was one of the issues sadly. Turns out a tab got deleted on one side… Thanks guys! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk | ||

Well got the Wyvern on the local courses. Little guy is a freaking goat! The wranglers that I was using were pretty dirty, but the truck just went up everything. I am sending off some revised parts next week. That should remove the link binding and fix the body mount. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
