Default Phyro’s TRX4m

What’s up guys! Got another mini truck, this time a Defender.

I did some mods right off the bat. I got the steel link and a bearing kit. I destroyed the original servo, so in went a micro99 from another project (not Wyvern).

I also added some SSD D-Holes with RC4WD Wranglers. The tires are a bit small, so going for something closer to stock.

Definitely looking good; I like that white roof. Nice choice on those tires, too; the add to the scale look. Was the micro99 a direct replacement?

Thanks! Ya, I have a Hot Wheel Defender with a white roof that looks really good. As for the Micro99, its not a direct fit, but not a lot of modification. Mostly widen the hole and trimmed the tabs off. I’ll get some pics this evening.

Nice looking truck, do they come with the white top or did you paint it? Those are good looking wheels too. Been lucky so far the servo on my Bronco is holding up, knock on wood.

Thanks Gramps! The white is from an unpainted body. They come white instead of black. I bought the second body to do a pickup conversion on it later on.

Nice Phyro! The Defender looks great!

IMO the tire size is right on! I like the smaller tire look.

Also nice idea on the white roof! Looks good and it'll keep the driver cooler in the blistering heat in the summer!

Well got something new for the TRX4m yesterday. The fog lights just aren’t enough to illuminate the dark corners of the world. A quick search of the local and nearby hobby shops and now I have this:

The little was also a bit busy bring holiday cheer.

Lol . It’s the only thing stopping me from just straight up replacing the electronics. It plenty bright. The brake lights come on when it’s applying drag brake in crawler mode, which I really like!

On another note, found out that if you replace the SSD bead lock ring with a Traxxas one, Traxxas tires fit! The tire doesn’t slip on the bead once tightened.

Here was my spare SSD wheels with Baja Pro X mounted: (Sorry for the poor lighting though.)

Satin Method bead lock above. Honestly I like how the Method looks, but having additional options is nice.

On a side note, SSD rings don’t fit the Traxxas bead locks.
