I really like th VW Bug body for RC crawling. I have a Grappler right now but I could easily go back to the bug.

There has been one full size bug bodied crawler... I still think cars should not be allowed though.

Yup some car bodies are really bad looking on crawlers, your probably right car bodies are not in keeping with the traditional look of the sport.

Argument for dig is simple, rules are based off full size comp rules. Only the full open classes allow rear steering, but many of the smaller classes do allow dig to be used. Also you can get a dig setup with pede shafts for under $20, Kevin had it for awhile. Others on this board have been running it for over a year now.

I'd rather run a bug body, then a truck body thats chopped up and looks like shit because of it. | |

| Come on, you have all these other rigs, spring for a decent chassis, a real tranny, and join the comp crowd again. There's no reason you can't be as competitive as anyone else.

trying to sell things to be more competitive if everyone hasn't noticed my body hasn't been the best from a messed up ankle to now a messed up back so been out of work so no $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ other than my bills as far as the dig thing i did say lol after it so i was joking .i would love to sell somethings and get a r2 with dig but theres no way unless a few things go so either i run my "tlt" tranny comp rig and suck or run scalers and have a blast .plus never said for sure i wouldn't compete just wont be as good. i guess i should have done more research before i got into comps .....lol hindsites 20/20 right well see you all soon

I don't have dig, never have. I may add it before this years comp season, but then again, I may not. I really don't think you need it to be competitive. The axial tranny is pretty darn cheap, should be able to slap it into a tracer pretty easy. The scalers are a blast, but it's still fun to compete with your buds for bragging rights. I've been running a more or less stock axial the last few comps, and still have fun. I still say, it's not so much truck, as driver. Practice, practice, practice |

i agre with freetime completely, take my wk for example. i had a less then comp worthy steering setup, no dig, horrible chassis, and i still ended the season with a decent score.

Don't take this seriously. This is for fun and it doesn't really matter if your having fun. I agree it's expensive to keep up with the latest and greatest and I posted my concerns about that a long time ago. But the fact remains the sport we fashion ourselves after is basically also very expensive. Fact is we break stuff for fun and entertainment and love all the new innovations and ideas. Fun and getting together is #1

| maddjack I agree with both freetime, and storm, I'm competive, I may not be the best either, but it's all about the fun and friendship anyway. |
