The supers averaged around 6 trucks last fall I believe, we had more trucks in the spring. The 2.2 class yields higher numbers.

The cost of building a super is higher to start with, as is keeping one running for a complete season. Because of their size, they require two high torque digital servos which cost $115 each. You can get by with cheaper servos, but you will find your self having to replace them quite often. The gears will either strip, or the motor will get to hot and loose its power.

Beyond cost, most of us just find the smaller rigs more fun to drive. Feel free to ask one of us if you can drive one of our rigs and see how you like them your self

Even bigger reason people like the 2.2 IMO is you need some big azz terrain to challenge a super class truck, so it's harder to find spots that make for interesting crawling. You can probably find something in your yard to challenge a 2.2 truck. I think we might see even smaller rigs for that very reason in the future.
