what kinda tires do you guys run up there? ive been running my moab/masher hybrids since 06 with great success out here. but my brand new set is still kinda stiff. and with the colder weather affecting the memory foams i dont wanna have a shitty setup and get my ass whipped by a bunch of midwesterners... lol! |

They like the Claws. I used to have really good luck with Mashers.

Chains might be your best bet with this last batch of snow It should all melt by the end of the week again, Thursday and Friday are showing highs in the 50s, Wednesday will be in the 40s with rain. Mashers and moabs do very well, many of us started to use claws after their release though. Most of us started with mashers, then went to moabs early on and thought they were better. Then we found people with mashers could kick our ass on certain sections, so the masher became the top tire until the release of the claws. |

Hey Dieselfuel, I wrench for my son in law Greg, we ran mostly mashers last year actually won a comp on them and they worked really well. We only ran Moabs once and didn't like them. So I'm not sure about how your combos will work. Then we all got into the Claws and then the season ended. The rock is some of the oldest in North America (Basalt) Moabs didn't like it if it was moist or wet. I'm just a Newbie so I don't know Sh*t but those are my observations. Hope to see you this weekend...Storm |

If the forecast don't change everyone might have to run these for tires! |

I have run the moab/masher hybrid and they are fine. I was there yesterday and was using the new Proline Badlands, really worked well. It was a little wet and cold. Stock full foam in the as well. Weight is your friend. Ryan |

I'll be mounting up some M2 Badlands and M3 Hammers tonight. I'll have 4 different sets of wheels to try this weekend, claws, hammers, badlands, and the rc4wd crazy crawlers.

Managed to get both sets of tires mounted up last night.... Quickly found that I dislike the proline memory foam, its way to soft. It was almost like running no foam, and these new tires have very thin skins, so they fold over very easily. The mashers might work well with their memory foam? I remember running those without foams. But then again I was also running wider rims back then. I also found prolines new beads are a pain to work with.. I had to dremel down the beads of the badlands to get them onto my rc4wd beadlocks. I finished up the last wheel around 11pm last night... It was a all night project that included a trip to the LHS for new foam after finding out the memory foam would not work for me. |

So basically you mounted a tire or a set of tires before you decided to scrape the Proline memory foam? :-( I have read that the Proline memory foam was a disapointment.

I mounted one bandland M2 tire with the memory foam.... 1 set of my hammers was with memory foam while the other had standard foam. So I had to get a replacement for 2 of the tires. I ended up making a 3 stage foam, using some of the memory foam for the outter piece. I am happy with the setup, though i took some time to cut the foam down.

I was thinking of 2 staging the proline mem foams too. Looking forward to seeing if it will work or not. I tossed the standard foams uncut under the set of claws I have, and they seem like bricks! I see a good amount of time swappin tires happening while there. Thank god I am running Ericsons now |

I have a set of beadlocks for each set of tires.... Screw the swapping tires deal, I swap the entire wheel combo |
