| Score/time keepers, Judges. Please read! First off, We'd like to extend a BIG thank you to those that have stepped up to help this season With the number of trucks we have this year, we wouldn't have time to run them all through the course's without the help. Below is a guide that should help everyone with how to properly use our newest ('08') score sheets. And a few side notes. How to properly use the 2008 MNRCRC score sheets * Please be sure and initial the score sheets in the box provided, for all the runs you score, with both the score keeper, and time keeper's initials. This helps if we should have a question when checking the score sheets. * Mistakes which are crossed off, should be initialed. GATE POINT OUT (PO) 20 points * If a driver points out attempting a gate (20 pts) those points must be marked in the box of the gate the person is attempting, as well as a no progress circled. If a no progress is circled, but no points are marked, we don't know why no progress was given when checking score sheets. * Please be sure and mark time for Time outs (TO), and point outs (PO). TO's are marked at 6:00, and PO's are marked their actual time. * Please use 4 slash marks, and One across for 5. (saves room) * Please leave the small box under the gate progress area blank, this is for final scoring. * Reverse rule: The MNRCRC reverse rule differs from the USRCCA rule, in that MNRCRC allows for "gear slop" Any more then "gear slop" will be marked a reverse penalty. NOTE: If a judge feels this rule is being abused for the purpose of gaining a better position, driver will receive a warning, and then reverse penalty's will be given. * All penalty's and progress should be called out loud * Time keeper should call out loud a running time every minute or so, so driver knows how much time they have left to complete the course. * Time keeper should be the One primarily calling out penalty's. The person scoring is responsible for marking the score in the correct box, and may not always be looking to catch all the penalty's. Also, it helps if the person calling, calls out loud the gate number, example: "progress gate 4" * Touch penalty's: When a touch penalty is given, time is stopped, and the driver moves his truck back until his rear wheels are inline with the previously cleared gate. Time resumes when the truck makes forward progress again. * If need be, time should stop to allow competitors to move (walk) safely between gates. * Adding score's: Scores should be added after every run. The proper way to add points is to: First add up the penalty points, then subtract the progress points. If a driver reaches 40 points (PO), the scoring stops at 40, then progress points, up to that point are subtracted. If a driver exceeds 20 points on any gate, they are given only 20 points, and no progress for that gate. * If any judge, or driver, has a question about a rule on any penalty called, time stops, and we would ask that you find either Nicklepimp (Kevin), EtypeR (Mike), or myself (Troy). Our goal as a club, is fun for everyone involved Our goal as judges is to be fair and accurate, and most importantly, be consistant in the calling of penalty's. Questions? comments?
