Exclamation MNRCRC Winter Meeting #1 (*updated)

Every winter we have a meeting to discuss the upcoming year. This year, we'd like to hold 2 meetings. 1 early to discuss some time-critical items, and another closer to the '09 season for the less time-critcal subjects.

We'd like to have the first meeting in November. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. We need to decide on a date. Please vote on the dates above.

We also need to decide on a location. Last year was at a restaurant at noon on a sunday....Why we decided to do that I'll never know. We were seated in the main dining area-it was hard to hear everyone and very crowded. This year, I do not want to hold it at a restaurant.

A couple of options for locations have been suggested. Troy has offered the party room at the Willow's on France Apartment's in Bloomington for no charge. Mike has suggested a bar & grill (name escapes me) that has meeting rooms. And I think The Mermaid in Blaine was even suggested. What are people's thoughts on locations? Or other suggestions are welcome too.

This is a great opportunity to voice your opinions and participate in planning the upcomming season. I again encourage all to attend.

I vote for trashing Troy's party room!

Agenda: (I will add to this as suggestions are brought up.)
  • 2009 Schedule
  • Regional Comp
    • Do we want to host a regional comp?
  • Membership/Running Fees
    • Do we want to start charging, and if so how much?
  • Series Scoring System
    • Continue with comp points, or points on finishing order?
  • 1.9” Class
  • Super Class
  • Update on ’09 USRCCA rules
  • Scale Events
    • Seperate from regular comps?
  • Alternate locations

X2 I like that I think the Willows used to be a nursing home so I'll fit right in.

I might go wheeling some time this month, not sure which weekend just yet though. I'll hold off on my vote until I know when we will be going.

Original plans called for 6 apt buildings, and a nursing home to share the 15 acres at 90th and France Ave So. That Nursing home on the SE corner of 90th and France, is now at the opposite end of the spectrum, although still probably changing shitty diapers, it's now a Kinder Care

My company remodeled the nursing home in the late 80's.

If anyone is not able to attend, it would be best to post your opinions on the topics here in this thread.

Howdy all,

Since I missed the last couple of comps (due to a family health issue) I'm not sure how much (or what) has been discussed...so I'll open with a few questions/comments:

Regional Comp: Could be fun, etc. but would take a lot of work-commitment

Dues-Fees: Would these be used for prizes, expenses (?) or ???

Alternate Locations: I realize that we won't find anything like TF but if a somewhat challenging/flexible site could be found around the metro area I would be up for an occassional comp away from TF

Scoring: Have there been recent discussions on the scoring or do we just re-evalutate/re-vote every year?

Thanks,

Sounds like our group is going wheeling the last weekend of the month, so the 30th won't work for me
