| Duluth Comp
Do we want to hold comp 4 or 5 (May 31 or June 14) in Duluth? Discuss. |

My choice would be comp 5, since comp 4 is the weekend following Memorial. It would give a little more time between weekends out of town for me. |

I'll have a better idea of what works better for me later this week I hope, might be buying a Toyota 4Runner pretty soon. FJ40 could be up for sale soon |

I like Arics point of the 31st being to close to Memorial weekend, give people a rest before making the long haul comp. Scores are all double checked and written on the sign in sheets. Just need to enter them into the spread sheet. |

I would also say that the 5th comp would be better. I will have to work up in Duluth/Superior after the comp either way, so it does not matter too much to me.

I talked to Kevin earlier today about the Duluth comp. We tossed around the idea of having a scale Run Saturday, comp on Sunday. And just for the hell of it, a scale 1.9 comp as well. Loose rules, post your opinions if you think we should hold it different. 1.9 wheels and tires 2 axles, 4 tires gotta look scale, tubers or full body rigs. No limit on size, the wheel size is the limit. I am guessing we will use the 2.2 gate width jig? Hold a concourse voting ballot, award bonus points in 2 point increments to everyone. If we get 6 scalers, first place would be awarded -12 bonus points. Everyone ranks each truck in the order they think they should be. |

Sounds like fun I won't be attending but I will let Greg and Dana know they were pretty interested in the Jay Cook location because they could camp not sure if they would be interested in staying in Duluth.

I also favor Jay Cooke since I would prefer to camp also, plus, that would be a nice option for a scale event on Sat. You wouldn't need to make 2 trips if you made a weekend out of it Josh. I vote Comp and camp. |

I favor the 5th comp up in duluth, and Jay Cooke would be a great place, was up there a few weeks ago to crawl with the locals, great place. The scaler thing sounds cool, but do I understand right, the points are for a diff. class. or do the points come of 2.2 or 1.9 class scores? |

If we do a scale comp, it would not have anything to do with our season scores. It would just be for that one day, its own event.

I am up in Duluth now and stopped at Thomson Damn area with my crawler. Nice place, but I didn't find it suitable for a comp. Maybe I am spoiled....lol. There are some cool spots, just would have a harder time making a nice line of gates. Will look at Enger Park today, too, if I have time. Is Thomson Damn part of Jay Cook (just outside the city of Thomson)? |

That is where I was. I guess I am just spoiled by TF. There is lots of good rock, the runs would just be a little different than I am used to. I know there are lots of lines there, just have to find them. I will go back there again on my way home. It was 82* there at noon today and 17 miles north in Duluth it was 47*.....brrrr |
