Default MNRCRC's 4th Annual Battle at the Border

The Battle at the Border comp has traditionally been our biggest event of the year. We are hoping for another great turnout and event again this year.

Date: Aug 23rd
Time: sign in starts at 9am
competition starts at 10am

Location: Interstate State Park in Taylors Falls, MN
Here is a link to google maps. It shows up as an unknown road, but that's the parking lot. You can type in your addy and get directions directly there. It's right off of Hwy 8 on the MN side of the MN/WI border.

Since this is a state park, a parking permit is required. They are for sale right at the park. They have annual parking passes for $25 and daily passes for $5.

We are charging $2 a comp this year. You can run as many classes as you wish for the $2.

We run all 3 classes: Supers, 2.2, 1.9. 2 courses per class in a free-crawl format. Each course will have 9 gates, and 1 bonus gate between the 2 courses. Standard USRCCA rules.

We'll start the comp with the 2.2 class. As the day progresses, we will setup the Super and 1.9 courses and run them as the judges become available. We're usually done with all classes by 3 or 4pm.

The rocks are right next to the parking lot. The courses wouldn't be any more than a 5 minute walk from the parking lot. Because of this, and the fact that this is a busy park, we prefer that everyone pits at their car. There are no outlets available either.

Hope to see you there.

I'll be there for this one. Only running 2.2 now. Selling off the mini one piece at a time. Just don't have the desire to run 2 classes anymore:?

Heres the F/S thread for anyone interested. I'm sure I could work out a deal for club members.

hope to make it, having some issues with rig, tring to fix it. Sold a lot of stuff at garage sale to come up with cash for parts, then the wifes car crapped out,375.00 later car works crawler don't.

I should be able to tom-e-rig something, for at least one course.

Sorry to say that due to a heavy remodeling schedule with Dana and Greg's new house most of the weekends are spoken for so we might just be done for the rest of the 2009 MNRCRC season you all know how it goes.

We have a couple different spots, but nothing like Taylors Falls. When do you think you will be through town?

Cookie, I will have some rigs with. SC8e, Summit, something scaler and maybe a comp rig. Not sure on time. I will have the computer hooked up and running while I drive. Send me a PM with your cell number and I will advise you on when. I have a lunch in GF at 11ish...so I wouldn't be there until closer to the end of a work day...3ish? Later.

Default should be good to go

E type, I should be ok for Sunday, I was having an issue with the axle's unlocking,I just tore apart the axle and put some plasctic washers in the gap so they are fully locked now. in the rear anyways. I'll do the front if I get some time 2 night.

Thank you for the offer though, that just goes to show the great support we have as a club, although no one offered a BERG for me to use, LOL ,just joking. I know if I needed one someone would step up.

Thank God I run a shafty though, right dirtyal, lol

See ya all Sunday
