Duluth SHAFTY Championships!!!!

Sept 19th Thompson Damn

Pro Class ...... Normal comp rules must be a shafty.

Amature ...... 2 cell battery max, shafty, NO DIG.....can be installed but zipped tied off or disabled.

2.2 scaler.....must be full body winch can be used.

1.9 scaler....must be full body winch can be used.

Tuff truck competition.....2.2 wheel, any motor, winch can be used, dig can be used, 2wd or 4wd.

This class has a course laid out that is not to hard and a varitey of obsticules, it is a timed event or distance not points, If you go off course...done. If you roll and can't winch over...done....NO TOUCHING....like th real tuff truck challenge.

I made this class because I like to beat the hell out of my wheely king.

Hmmmm...

Sounds like mutiny to me.

dirtyal 08-31-2009 05:26 PM

Yep wont be making this trip. A friend is coming over from Germany and we already have our weekend booked.

I'm not even sure how many of our guys still have shafties:shock:

Stormin2u 08-31-2009 05:51 PM

I like it 2.2 without the MOA "its about the driver not the equipment crowd". "thumbsup"

But unfortunatly as I have stated before these things work best when planned way in advance not enough warning for us. :-(

Not stepping on toes Just want to wheel more!!!!!

I love to wheel my trucks and I got too many not to.
I would like to get some new blood wheeling. Have some classes that people can get excited about.

Also will have trophies for first place in the Pro and Amature 2.2 comp classes. My buddy owns a trophy shop.

I want to have one big event a year in Duluth and this will be a start. So show up and have some fun!!!!

I hope to draw some more locals around here who would like to try crawling....with out getting crushed so bad they won't want to go again.

Oh yeah there will be three course per class.

Look next year for two in Duluth and one a Taylors for a Triple Crown series.

So, if this is shafty only, how do you hope to integrate this with existing MNRCRC activities?

I understand your motives, but this could undermine our existing USRCRC recognized club.

X2... This is all well and good, but I have to agree with GySgt Hartman.

scaler comp sounds great we need to have a few of them here sometime

djjiz 09-01-2009 02:55 PM

I can only run two classes but I'd like to see this pulled off. Maybe run a sportsman, pro, and open class for 2.2.

Eather this year or next, I'm willing to run:mrgreen:

Etype R 09-01-2009 03:44 PM

I will only be there Sunday, I will be wheeling on Satuday.

Duluth Shafty Comp

I sorry if there was confusion...this is an free event with no club ties...anyone can come anyone can wheel. So grab all your rigs from 1.9 to the wheelie king and come bash some rocks and have fun crawling again!!!!!

Guys, in the other Duluth thread I told Kwapi that he could plan the Sat event. (here) I'm looking forward to this. We haven't had any scaler events all year. The Tuff Truck and scaler classes should be sweet.

Kwapi, any interest in a 1.9 tuff truck? Maybe combine the scaler classes with the tuff truck? My Landy wants to play.

TomEGunn 09-01-2009 10:05 PM

sure now I start to build a dig rig and you want to do a no dig class:flipoff:

just kidding, I'll be lucky to have it working anyways. Don't think I'll make it sat., to many pets to be gone for the weekend, but I should be there Sunday.

those events sound fun as hell, would be fun, maybe next yr I'll have a better selection of rigs.

TwistedXT 09-02-2009 12:23 PM

props on combining the comp rigs with the scalers and the tuff truck is also a nice touch. theres soo many guys here in denver that run it is almost impossible to run them all together.. and i must say.. the tuff truck challenge is a kick in the pants! i was washing mud off my cr01 for a week.. and the Summit loved it after all was said and done... tranny didnt shift rigth for 3 months after that! Please be sure to post up pics from the comp. Love seein the home town!

The Thomson Dam is on the Blackbear casino exit (hwy 210) off Interstate 35 about 15-20 miles South of Duluth.

Mike, I see a few guys are having a GTG at Taylors over the weekend, if you're in the cities, and have time, I, and most others have a rig you could run at the GTG, if interested?

kwapi 09-02-2009 08:58 PM

All rigs wil run the same three courses...no waiting to setup the 1.9....How is that going to work? The course will be the same but with a few different color coded gates for the pros or the 1.9s that run right next to the amature sections. Scalers will run the same courses also. the tuff truck comp will be after the normal comp....but i will have it ready to go right after the comp.

Winch rule? Yeah use your winch but you can only touch the cable or a touch penalty will be given. Time will not stop for you if you use your winch...so it might help might not.

Tuff truck is also open to 1.9 tires rigs also....with a max 2.2 and 6" tire height.

kwapi 09-02-2009 09:31 PM

Your never say die attitude is partly why I am putting this event on...so the guys with out a millon bucks can run and do good...it comes down to driver. I seen you run good Taylors if the course was not a dig course...this one is for you man!!!
