More metro friendly crawl areas

So I know there is already a thread for crawling locations that is stickied, but there are all really far and seem to be mainly geared toward rock crawling.
Wondering who goes where for some good scale trail riding with some difficult terrain in areas, and places that are relatively close to Minneapolis/southwest area.
My buddy Talon/"gunch" posted my favorite crawl spot in the stickied thread which is in Shakopee and I do love it there, just not great for trail riding through the trees. I've hit up all the local parks and found some good bike trail and disc golf courses, but unfortunately even those are starting to get old.
So lets hear'em, favorite trail riding spots---

My favorite scale area is still the former Howl Krawl location off the Mississippi in S Mpls.
I'm pretty sure you can find a link to the directions, and pictures in the 1st couple of Howl Krawl threads. If not pm me for directions.
It's got lots of trails, hills, water, mud, and there is even a pretty decent area to run 2.2 comp trucks too.

Noice, we might have to check that out later. Sounds promising! Commencing search for howl crawl threads now...

Coon rapids dam area

the spot I mentioned in the other thread, by the coon rapids dam is a great scaler spot, alot of smaller rock with some big ones mixed in. alot of sand hills ,tree branches. not much water unless there was recent rain. maybe if you go all the way down by the mississippi you might find more h2o, I never walked al the way down there. from Mississippi street the creek must be at least 1/4 mile long I'm guessing, maybe more. I only had a 2.2 at the time, and I had alot of fun down the with that, but it was all pretty easy for the 2.2, but a scaler could be challanging.

I have been wanting to check out that spot too. I have seen the post just not had the time to make it up there yet. Thanks for reminding me though.
