Default 2010 MNRCRC Winter Meeting

Time to start planning our winter meeting for the upcoming season. I've talked to Ken, and he is ok with us using the ballroom at the Mermaid again. Thanks Ken. He says he should know the available days for February within the next week. At that time we can choose a date.

In the mean time, let's start talking about topics. I have a few topics I know we need to discuss. If you guys have other topics, post them up and I'll add them to the list.

Agenda
  • 2010 Rules
    • What changed?
  • Treasury Update
  • Sportsman class
    • Run it or not
    • Shaftie only or allow MOA's
  • 2010 Schedule
    • Duluth Comps/Out of town events
  • USRCCA Nationals
  • Scaler Series/more events
  • Points System
  • Course Time Limits
  • Judges

I probably won't make it to the meeting tho I'd like to.. Until I know for sure here's a couple things on my mind:

Anything I can do to help the Duluth comps lmk.

I like the idea of Sportsman

Shafties only would be cool but wouldn't turn away a new guy with moa

I read rules but didn't find any info about a points system for the season scoring. I'll re read but what I'm looking for is a total points system.

That's all for now.. I'll edit if more questions/ comments pop up

Yes, that was another hot-topic for us last year... Series points: Actual score or scoring system. Thanks Jiz, and I hope you can make it to the meeting.

I think all MOA rigs need to have a rainbow themed paint job.

I am still going to have the Duluth Shafty Classic again this year. I think I am going to make it a big event. Grilling out and whole thing. Plus I am really hoping to run a scaler series this year. I laid out what I think would be cool on the scaler thread. I thought of a new one also.

Mass start from point A to point B and back. call it the King Of Hammers!
Right along the lake shore in duluth where we went after the comp last year.
I can't make it down but don't forget about the Duluth Shafty Classic!!!!!

Is there any time frame that works best for you guys for the Duluth comps? Grandma's marathon is Father's day weekend(June 19th)-2 reasons to avoid that weekend. The spring finals are held towards the end of June, so we need to avoid then as well. Otherwise I'm open to suggestions.

Also a RC Swap Meet March 28th
Now that we have an update for the puller schedule we can try and set a date for the meeting. Obviously, we aren't gonna want to do it the same day as the swap meet. Are any of these dates a problem for anyone?

When I talked to Ken about it a while back, I thought he said he wouldn't want to do it the same day as the swap meet. I'll talk to him about it at the pulling event Sunday.

Ok, I clarified it with Ken. He said he wouldn't want to do a pulling event the same day as the swap meet. He is ok with having the meeting the day of the swap meet if people prefer. Sorry for the confusion.

He wants to start the swap at about noon, so we would have to get started a little sooner that day.

I'll add a poll to this thread about the dates.

Poll added for the dates. I didn't include March 7th due to the Midwest 2.2 Challenge being that weekend.

The poll is also multiple choice.
