Talking MNRCRC chat thread

So I decided we have a gtg thread and biweekly comp threads, and nothing else. I think we need a useless crap thread chit chat nonsense and what not. So I call this the mnrcrc its boring in here and we never discuss anything thread.

I'm sure norm and a few others will keep a decent chat going. So.........

Is there any interest for a winter comp series in MN? I see that the WI crew has 2 winter comp series but they are way too far to drive for a weekly/biweekly comp. I would be interested in a winter series. Our winters in this oh so lovely state are way to damn long. I think we need something to hold our crawling needs over for the next 6 or 7 months...

Also for next season I would like to see 7 comps per series and maybe more than 2 per year in duluth. Anyone else have thoughts on these ideas. Good or bad I feel that they should be up for discussion.

Im down for a winter series.. If it's not crawling, I'll be carpet munching a Blitz.

Seven comps in Duluth would be cool.

ya 7 comps in duluth sounds like a bit much but maybe if we did a 7 comp series 2 per series could be in duluth and 5 at taylors (or else where if suitable locations are found) hell I would settle for 3 comps per year in the D

IMO..I think the schedule with 6 comps is great, gives you the holidays off , and a few extra weekends for other things.

More comps in Duluth or other areas would be great, but hard to beat T.F. or Duluth for the rock. Bridge underpasses and creekbeds don't work with the # of people and vehicles we need room for.

I believe the Crawling part at the Mermaid is OVER. It's Ken's gig and there is too much set up and tear down for only a few regulars.

I would encourage ANYONE of you Duluth guys to swing in one time to see the pulling going on. Gene is a big meanie as well as the Jerrys'. Those old boys put the smack down. Mark and Ken are there for back up when things get heated.

The Mermaid has some serious potential. We just need to convince Ken we are willing to make a go of it. Then he needs to sell it to his boss who let's him use (FOR FREE) any open ballroom. Guys it doesn't get any better then that. Inside, heated, well lit (slow down Jizz boy...), food and great service. Plus you can go bowling if you are bored. Oh and there is a hotel attached for those who travel in.

I talked with Ken a few weeks ago and he asked me if I was going to pull this year? So the crawling is over?

You better show up and drive that thing...once.

As for the Pulling...yeah i think Kevin wrecked it. Blame him. No seriously, the crawling is alot of work to set up and then tear down, store and transport. I can see Ken's frustration with that part.

I have brought with a couple crawler boards from home to screw around on. We'll see how this winter goes. Brain storm...for ideas...

Are you running the ESE version? What's your opinion on it? Setup and type of course you run on? I'm asking because I'm thinking of joining the local short course class (oval or road course, not sure).

Thanks in advance .

Troy.

Gomez Addams: You think so, huh?

Gomez Addams: Beautiful!! Beautiful!!
Sam Hilliard: You meant to blow them up?
Gomez Addams: Of course! Why else would a grown man play with trains? You wanna blow the other bridge?
Sam Hilliard: Some other time....

I don't actually own one yet but after carpet racing a spec slash class and watching local short course I just see this truck as the next step for me.
