Talking MNRCRC Duluth Weekend May 14-15 ***************COMP #3 djjiz!!!**********

MNRCRC's 2011 Duluth Weekend #1

This is our first of 3 visits to Duluth this year. It's always a good time. Saturday is real laid back just hanging out with some crawlers. Then on Sunday we comp it out like we always do!

Sat May 14th, 12:00pm-Enger Tower (map) Scaler Get together.
Starting at Enger Tower, we are gonna wheel till our dang wheels fall right off. Bring your scalers and we'll stomp on every rock at Enger! Once we're done there, we will check out some other great spots in Duluth. The greatest thing about Duluth is the number of locations they have.

Sun May 15th, 9:00am-Brighton Beach (map) Comp day.
We will have our regular competition which is comp 3 of the spring series. Normal rules apply. Sign in will start at 9am and competition will begin at 10am. This will be entirely at Brighton Beach. The winners of the last comp who will start each course on the 15th are:
2.2’s: Irok22s & Stalker
1.9’s: Nicklepimp & Etype R
Only fee for the weekend is the normal comp fee of $3 for Sunday's competition if you haven't paid the $15 for the full series. (Remember, to be eligible for the prize drawings at the end of the series, you must pay the full $15 for the series by this comp.) Saturday is no fee, and none of the Duluth spots require parking passes.

For directions to either location, click the map links above. They will take you to Google Maps. From there, just click on the upside-down tear drop and choose the ‘Directions’ link. Enter your starting point, and click ‘Get Directions’. We will meet in the parking lot of each park on both days. Just look for the grown men with toy trucks.

*Note: Brighton Beach is on the shore of Lake Superior. Even if we get some warm weather, bring some warm gear anyway. That wind coming off the lake is no joke. Also, be careful of slick rocks. We will try to keep the courses at a safe distance from the lake, but as always be sure to watch your step.

I can hardly wait. See you in Duluth.

Our next comp will be June 5th in Taylors Falls. Hope you can make it to that one.

Each time I've stayed at AmericInn. Usually in Carlton, but last time was Cloquet. They are both within a half hour drive of Downtown Duluth, and are considerably cheaper than downtown. Link

OK, so all those guys from the southern part of the state (flat landers, cousin Toms, pack sacker's, and limp wristed city boys) are coming this weekend to try and make a claim on your friggin rocks? You D.O.R.K.S. better get in a ass kicking mode or the smack talk will be really ugly for a long time. Nobody knows this rock better than you D.O.R.K.S. so it should be no problem for you to issue the punishment they deserve and want.

That's a single warning, don't make me have to do this again.

Dork is only an army of one!

Ok anyway back to what could be a bigger issue. Engar tower is closed for construction still. As far as I know. I will be in that area today so I will check for sure. If it is closed we probably shouldn't go there. I say we move it to Sprit Mountian there is a lot of scale goodness there. Now if that doesn't float your boat. A second option would be meet at fitgers complex and hit up the shore. Scalers could have fun for a couple miles in either direction from there. The one place I really don't want to go is Thompson other than that I'm down for whatever.

Let's hear the ideas and get this squared away fast.

My vote is for sprit if engar is closed.
