Competition Series Information We use USRCCA rules for all of our competitions. Please visit www.usrcca.com for the complete and current rules. We run 1.9, and the 2.2 'S' class. The 2.2 'S' class will be shafty only (1 motor only), no dig, and bodiless rigs are ok. New this year, we are also running a new class we developed called the Trail Class. The Trail Class is geared towards any of the SCX10 rigs, but is open to any thing comparable meeting a few basic guidelines:
Setup for each comp will start at 9am and courses will open around 10am, except for the Duluth comp. The Duluth comp will start 1 hour later. Running order of classes are 2.2 Pro, 2.2 'S', then Trail Class. Each of our comps will have (2) courses per class. Each course will have a time limit ranging from 5 to 8 minutes. For running order, the person who finished first at the previous comp will go first on course 1, and whoever finished second will go first on course 2. If either are not present when courses open, the next highest finisher from the previous comp will go in their place, up to fifth place. It was decided to do this to help even the playing field, and make the top drivers prove they deserve to be on top by going first. After the first person goes, it is the traditional Free Crawl format (no running order). Judging-Just like last year, everyone will be judging at every comp. Each person will time/call penalties for the person immediately ahead of you in line. After that run, you run the course. Then after your run, grab the clipboard and score the next person in line. Once that run is done, you are free to move on to the next course. And repeat the above steps for your second course. This worked great last year to get everyone involved in judging. We will help out those who aren't comfortable judging yet. Let us know, and we can make sure someone can walk you through it the first few times. You can also freshen up on your rules knowledge by taking the USRCCA judging quiz-HERE Series points system will be based on placement. First place of each comp will get 100 pts, then each place below will be steps down in increments of 2 (i.e. second will get 98, third gets 96, etc.) In the event of a tie, both tied competitors will get the score for the tied position. Next in line will get the appropriate points for their placement. (Example: 2 people tie for second. Both would get 98 points. The next person (4th place) would get 94 pts for placing 4th.) If a competitor does not show up to a comp, they receive 0 points for that comp of the series. Everyone will be scored the best 7 comps of the series(1 throwout). The finals event will have a Finals Course for the top 5 people of the series after the normal 2 courses are ran (Scored as seperate comp in the series). Dues are $30 for the series or $3 per comp. Women and children are free! Dues are to be paid when you come out to a competition. We will have a prize drawing after the Finals event for those who paid the full $30 for the series. You must be present to win. Scaler Info All Scaler get-togethers are for fun only, no points series. You can expect a laid back event with just some occassional impromptu challenges. No classes or having to worry about scale points. Run what you brung. Only requirement is fun! Best of all there is no fee for any scaler event...Yes, I said FREE! Each of the scaler events is treated as a trail ride. Its recommended to bring a backpack, or a way of carrying spare batteries, parts, and tools, and don't forget water and food too. Starting time for all Scaler events will be 11am except the Saturday Duluth event-that day will begin at 12noon. Please arrive early enough to be ready to go at the start time. Thanks, and hope to see you on the rocks. ![]() Last edited by Nicklepimp; 07-22-2013 at 06:53 PM. |

I'm working June 2nd and I'll be in Colorado on the 30th. I'll definitely make at least one of the July or later events. I just sold my last motorcycle so I'm probably going to get a Trail Honcho or the Rubicon. Gotta have new toys!

***Change in location for the Duluth comp (#5) this weekend*** Due to recent knowledge of a large event happening in Duluth, the Saturday 7/27 comp is being moved to Thompson Dam. |

i have a quick question on the trail class, when it says "Only servo allowed on axle" does that mean i can use a CMS kit or does that mean that the servo has to be on the axle? Thanks Grunt |

It means you can't mount your battery and such, nothing but a servo mounted on axle. ![]() Since you have a cms, you're fine...nothing is mounted to your axle...make sense? |
