Map to crawl/trail run spot. Mississippi Park. We are actually going to be parking in the lot at 36th and West River Parkway about 3 blocks from the star on the map.. How does everyone/anyone feel about 11am ish?? post up interest and prefered times here plz. From I-94 take the Cretin/Vandalia exit south to Marshall Ave, which turns into Lake St as you cross the bridge. Turn right and go across the Mississippi River bridge. Take the first left on the Minneapolis side of the bridge. That leads you to West River Parkway. Go South about 6 blocks to the parking lot on West River Parkway and 36th st. From Crosstown/Hwy 62 Go East to Hiawatha/Minnahaha Ave exit. Take Hiawatha to 42nd St and go right/East to West River Parkway, then left/North 6 blocks to the 36th St West River Parkway lot. http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...0Park&qc=Parks Last edited by freetimecrawler; 10-20-2006 at 03:03 PM. |

Nicklepimp and I went and did some scouting down by the Howl Krawl spot today. All I can say is WOW That "Trail Of Terror" is appropriately named This trail is not for the timid. Todays carnage included, but not limited to 1 broken outer Tlt axle 1 broken driveshaft 1 vanished battery pack (ask Nicklepimp about that ) Bring spare parts :-P This is an awesome area for trail running. Milder trails all over for those of you who don't wish to run the "Trail Of Terror" (AKA Wicked Ridge Run) Some mud and water for those that like to play in the mud There is also some decent rockcrawling as well, so bring your comp 2.2's Hope to see you all there!! | Bring extra parts, extra batteries, some good walking thru the woods shoes, and some extra underwear. Like Freetime said, we found a great trail of terror, but for those not ready/willing, there are plenty of other areas to crawl. Fun for all types of rigs, but the 2.2s and scalers may have the most fun! My battery pack is still missing. I miss my battery:-(. The ghosts probably got it. (insert evil laugh here) |

Just to let everyone who is interested in attending the 1st annual Howl Krawl 2006 know that the "Trail Of Terror" has some very steep inclines on One side. The trail is AKA the Wicked Ridge Run, because it's along a ridge that has some 40'-50'+ drop- offs. The area as a whole has some very steep inclines. There are trails on flatter area's for those that don't wish to play "mountain goat" (Just not as challanging) There is also a pretty cool area for rock crawling at the bottom of the ravine. There is a fairly easy (but steep) path down to that area. Hope to see you all there |

I will be there. Just a random ramble, but I doubt that Jerry Sr. and Jerry Jr. would come because of the way their rigs are built. With their batteries (1100 MaH) heat shrunk to each front axle hub, they don't really have the ability to trail run. Once their batteries die, they would not be able to change them. They would have to go all the way back to the car to charge them. That sucks. Maybe they can find/bring something else to run. Thanks, Casey |

I should really do some work on the bronco, maybe make a more rigid battery mount... I think I'll toss a trail repair kit together as well. Spare nuts and bolts, links and link parts. Some plastic bits and gears, and only the tools I will need.

Esp the more rigid battry mount, Ask Kevin what happens to batteries on a fall over the side Casey, as for Jerry Sr/Jr The parking lot isn't far from where we crawl, so it wouldn't be hard to go charge up in between runs. There is some decent crawling in the ravine for supers as well. Last edited by freetimecrawler; 10-20-2006 at 04:23 PM. | |
