Are the wraith axles allowed? I would think they are too wide.

Good luck making any of the gates with wide axles running 1.9 tires.

I wouldn't try to compete with that wide of a rig in a scale class. I like the improved design of the wraith axle though. I had put the idea out there for a 1/8th scale scaler in the general scaler forum. The issue that arose was finding a 1/8 scale body that would work. The axles and 2.2 tires proved to be scale for a 1/8th scale rig when I did the calculations. Of course such a rig wouldn't be admissible for a comp, but it might be a fun project.

Wraith chassis is far from perfect.

And the rig you describe would fit in the 2.2 trail class.

Here's a rig I ran for awhile (the maroon Tundra on the far right). Everything was stock Wraith except the frame and body. That was my 1.9 scale truck it's on .

even with it's longer wheelbase? Such a rig would have a wheelbase scaled to 1/8th scale and thus will be larger than a typical 1/10th scale wheelbase.

It would "fit" the 2.2 class closer 'cause the rim size. Unless you put 1.9s on it, then good luck!

Surprisingly, you'd be amazed at how many "1/10 scale" RC bodies are actually 1/8 or bigger. The Axial Dingo body, Proline 73 ford bronco, heck I think even the Axial honcho body is more proportionate at 1/8 scale. Personally I think what we've defined as a 1.9 scale rig looks better with a 1/8 scale body as it makes it even more scale looking (like something you might run across in real life).
The class 1 rigs with 1.5 and 1.7 tires much better fit the 1/10 scale proportions.

I'm new and a little confused about the 1.9 class wheelbase max limit. What is the max wheelbase limit? The USRCCA rules that I seen say 8.5" but that wouldn't include any SCX10 kit.

Thanks

The USRCCA rules youre referencing are likely for a 1.9 shafty rig not a scale rig. For this class we run pretty loose. Just have 1.9 tires and a scale rig, no cheater rigs (i.e. 1.9 shafty comp rigs).

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. So my Dingo kit with 1.9 wheels and tires would qualify for the 1.9 class then. That's good to hear.

Thanks again.

Can we allow a guy with 6 or 8 wheel drive use rear steer? I don't feel threatened by these rigs and would love to see one welcomed to the club.

I vote yes. If they can maneuver something that long thru a gate With rear steer i say bring it on. It would be cool to watch.
