Yeah, mine is an rtr, and it's the stock grease in there. I'm going to put the 2.5 in there, and try out a diff out back with the 2.5 as well

After bashing around and racing mine around a baseball diamond or two... I would recommend a better steering rack then stock. I think that will be my next upgrade, as well as a chassis stiffener (aka the bat wing) I swapped my RTR to some adjustable turn buckles, RPM lower arms and VP knuckles and now it seems that I am getting all kinds of flex from the stock steering rack... Not sure if that is a good thing or not. That or it is coming from the caster blocks that are still the stock plastics. Maybe Dana can chime in on this, but does anyone know if the Proline BL's that are offered for the Yeti are any narrower then the stock wheels? |

Mitch .. In my YETI research the steering upgrades are highly recommended for a more precision feel. Dana's got me looking at the Proline Faultlines too. Unfortunately Proline has not included the width or weight information? I'm guessing their 1.5" and that works for me. I've also noticed that a lot of CI closed foam going in these cars tires if thats the ticket it makes the CI wheels and glue a good option as well. I'm just collecting parts right now for a winter project but I bet the guys get some racing in yet this year. I couldn't see the last pictures but they seem pretty motivated to get it done.

If any of you thread-highjackin' Yeti builders wanna help build the track you are all droolin' over, drag your butts outta bed later on this mornin' and head for Lake Elmo...we start at 10...could be that Chuck might charge an entrance fee for all'o y'all that show up when the track is done with Yetis ready to race with clean hands! Long distance Yeti builders and Iron Chair riders excluded from the last statement, of course. Last edited by Orange58Crush; 09-06-2015 at 11:21 PM. Reason: Cuz I've haddafew whiskeys... |

I'm down in Iowa right now, so I can't come help tomorrow, but I'm ok with an entrance/usage fee for use of this track. -Derek |

| Re: building a u4 track in lake Elmo You know if you don't experiment you don't move forward. I'm really curious about this it makes a lot of sense and its an alternative to the current on/off choice. But would most likely requires a driving technique or two as well ... Derrick I want you to know your my hero. |

The majority of the large tasks are complete. It's mostly just tedious items that would make it race ready like... -level out straightaway -build banks at both ends of straightaway -eliminate gaps under boundaries -couple more jumps or a whoop section There's maybe more items that would be nice to do, but I think if we had the turn out we did last weekend, we could knock out the above in a day's work. B.T.W. What kind of ground clearance does the Storm-mobile have? | |

The interior floor has been lowered 10" from stock that work is covered by those skirts its probably similar to a low sedan. The approach angle is challenged somewhat.

Less ground clearance than my Avenger? I drove my car directly to the track and had no issues.

Just my opinion, but having jumps or a whoop section on sloped ground is going to make for an almost guaranteed fail. I'm thinking the middle of the front straight is a good place for either whoops or a long table jump.
