Just a heads up for people who take Hwy 8 to TF.

This is a great heads up for everyone, it looks like the easiest way to get in is from the WI side, so would be best to maybe cross in Stillwater or Osceola then take 35 north to highway 8.

Google maps is showing road construction at hwy 97 and hwy 61 too. A buddy at work said there was a detour there as well.

Maybe take hwy 96 thru White Boy Lake to hwy 95 north. Then cut over thru Osceola (hwy 243?) to county 35 north to hwy 8 west.

Re: Hwy 8 Construction

The route we ended up taking today (blue line in picture), did not seem too bad. Coming from I-35, we followed Hwy 8 east just past Lindstrom. In Center City, take Andrews Ave north (left). It's just in front of Swenson's Lakehouse restaurant. Follow that north, then east as it turns into County Road 82. This leads directly to the park entrance, just on the north side of Hwy 8 (by the gas station). It only seemed like it took a few minutes longer.

Now, I don't know about you guys, but I tend to navigate by landmarks. And we found a doozy of one when you first get onto Co. Rd. 82...

Those trees don't typically grow like that... Sure enough, you can see it from space...

Oh, and the ranger at the park today indicated that this road work is supposed to last into the fall.
