A place we wanted to run last summer, closed down due to funding and vandalism. I decided to take 95 to hwy 96 on the way home last night, and the Boomsite park was open again, I stopped by and checked it out since it has been over a year now. You do have to walk down some stairs, its a decent set of stairs too, but its not bad enough to make you want to carry all your junk down in one trip :-P The park is located just north of still water, just 1.2 miles past hwy 96 along the river. You will see a mile marker sign that lists a historical marker, then the boomsite restside. You can see the boomsite parking lot from the historical marker. And if the first parking lot for the boomsite is full, there is a much larger one not even a block down the road Link to the boomsite site http://www.dot.state.mn.us/restareas...rboomsite.html Here is a link to a gallery of pictures of my old TLT out there. http://www.rc-offroad.com/tlt/tltbruiser/testrun/ And another gallery of my Juggernaut out there, when it was still kind of small http://www.rc-offroad.com/juggernaut/crawler/index.htm There is a very nice dry river bed thats about 2-3 feet wide and filled with rocks ranging from marble sized up to shoe box sized, looked like a killer scale trail for the scalers

11:00 sounds like a reasonable time I have some practicing to do with the new super set-up as well. I'm going to post a link to this thread in the regular Mn thread in case anyone missed it.

And the weekend after that I will be offroading my 1:1 up at Gilbert again. Plus I will have to test the new R2 tranny... And this is closer then Taylors |

I take 95 south, instead of hwy 8 when I do not feel like dealing with all the slow downs. And with how nice of a day we had, I was sure that it was be a busy day along hwy 8. I know its short notice, I have a bunch of crap going on Saturday too. If everyone likes it, sounds like the July 1st GTG might be held here as well.

So anyone else in for this one? I know Kevin and Troy are in, list is pretty short so far. I need to get out to test the Dig setup on the gopher, so I am going even if I am the only one

I'll be there Got the DX7 set up in the Clod with duel ESC's Going back to the stick radio is like riding a bike, but I'll still need to practice some. I'm loving it so far I also bent the chassis on the Hi-Lift, last Sunday. I'll have to go beat the snot out of it again, and see if I can bend it back

I worked on trucks last night. The Chevy is back running with a new motor and electronics, new tires/rims. H-L is back up and running with a Super Rooster installed, and the Geo's back on for now. Super's been reworked with 2 esc's, and set up for the DX7. We still looking at 11ish tomorrow? Might have a passing shower early AM, but it's supposed to be nice, if not too hot.

Today was a lot of fun. Nickelpimp, Freetime Crawler, myself and EtypeR all took some scalers down to a sweet little spot. The shade was awesome compared to the 90 plus degree heat and humidty we had at the top of the bluff. This spot has a lot of potential for comps and especially scaler runs. I will get some pics up in the morning. Rocks, water, shade and plenty of play area. Good find Mike!! Oh we all brang 2 trucks a piece. Ha ha, they ALL broke their rigs. Everyone of them...Mine, yeah just fine. Mike's Crawl Master setup was Ryan

The only 1 of my 3 that 'broke' was my scaler. It wouldn't move after I ran it though the water. Now that it's dried out it's running fine. I'm not quite sure what happened cause my electronics were all ballooned. :? What fun is a scaler if you can't get it wet?

Love it I think I like the mud/scalers as much as the crawlers :-P I just added a waterproof ESC to the H-L, now all I need to do is waterproof the rec well, and I'm set for some more water/mud The chevy didn't get run much Sun, but is ready to go from the last scale run. I have plans for another scaler after my 2.2 Hulk build is finished.
